Position Overview
This Sales Agronomist role in Presho, South Dakota involves providing expert agronomy advice to farmers, promoting and selling agronomy-related products including chemicals, fertilizer and seed, and formulating agronomy programs for weed control, insect control, soil testing and application programs. The role also includes participating in field examinations, crop scouting services, and coordinating delivery and post-delivery follow-up of agronomy services provided to customers.

Key Responsibilities
Agronomy Advisory & Sales
- Provide expert agronomy advice to farmers to help maximize their crop yields
- Promote and sell agronomy-related products and services, including chemicals, fertilizer and seed
- Formulate, develop and explain agronomy programs for weed control, insect control and soil fertility
- Stay current on industry trends and new agronomy technologies to provide innovative customer solutions
Field Services & Delivery Coordination
- Participate in field examinations including soil testing, delivery of products and crop scouting services
- Schedule, coordinate and actively participate in the delivery and post-delivery follow-up of agronomy services
- Assist in the resolution of customer-related questions and issues
- Create and maintain prompt and accurate records of customer contacts and daily sales activities
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Agronomy degree or current enrollment in an agronomy education program
- Farming and agronomy background preferred
Experience & Licensing Requirements
- Valid Class A driver’s license in good standing, or the ability to obtain one after hire
- Ability to successfully pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and physical
- Willingness to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays during peak seasons
Essential Skills
- Ability to read, write and communicate verbally with strong interpersonal skills
