Position Overview — SAP EWM Consultant (m/w/d), Stockach Baden-Württemberg
This SAP EWM Consultant (m/w/d) at a strongly expanding company in Stockach, Baden-Württemberg is responsible for the administration, support, and Customizing of the SAP EWM landscape — the eigenverantwortliche Konzeption and management of business processes in SAP EWM — requirements gathering with the relevant business areas (Fachbereiche) — steering external service providers — conducting Key-User-Schulungen — and SAP (partial) project leadership — from concept through Go-Live, in a modern SAP logistics and supply chain environment that also encompasses SAP TM and SAP LE knowledge.
Why This Role Matters: As SAP EWM Consultant at this growing Stockach company, the warehouse management processes you configure, optimise, and implement in SAP EWM are the digital operational backbone of a logistics function that directly determines whether the company’s supply chain can scale efficiently as the business expands. When your SAP EWM Customizing correctly maps a new inbound delivery process that eliminates the manual transfer order steps that were creating bottlenecks in the goods receipt area at peak volume, your SAP TM interface configuration correctly manages the freight order tendering and carrier communication process in a way that is visible and manageable for the logistics team without requiring technical support for every exception, or your Key-User-Schulung correctly empowers the warehouse team to handle process deviations and EWM system alerts independently rather than escalating every non-standard situation to the SAP team — you are not configuring system tables. You are building the operational capability and process confidence that allows this expanding company’s logistics function to grow without its EWM system becoming a constraint rather than an enabler. That is the professional contribution and commercial consequence of excellent SAP EWM consulting in a growth-phase company.
Key Responsibilities — Aufgaben
SAP EWM Betreuung, Administration & Customizing
- Administer, support, and Customise the SAP EWM landscape — applying deep SAP EWM Customizing expertise to maintain, optimise, and extend the warehouse management system configuration that supports the company’s logistics operations, with the technical depth and system knowledge to resolve configuration issues, implement process improvements, and develop new EWM solutions without requiring external escalation for standard configuration challenges
- Develop new SAP EWM solutions within the existing system landscape — identifying and implementing enhancements, additional EWM functions, and system extensions that support the expanding company’s evolving logistics process requirements as the business grows and its warehouse management needs become more sophisticated
- Manage the interface and integration landscape between SAP EWM and adjacent SAP modules — particularly SAP TM (Transportation Management) and SAP LE (Logistics Execution) — ensuring that the cross-module data flows, transfer order processes, and logistics document management work reliably and efficiently across the full SAP supply chain system scope
Eigenverantwortliche Prozesskonzeption & Anforderungsaufnahme
- Eigenverantwortliche Konzeption and management of business processes in SAP EWM — taking individual responsibility for the complete process design cycle from initial requirements analysis through concept development, Customizing implementation, testing, and productive operation, with the autonomous working style and professional judgment that eigenverantwortliche SAP consulting requires
- Gather requirements with the relevant business areas (Fachbereiche) — engaging with the warehouse operations, logistics, procurement, and supply chain teams that use SAP EWM in their daily work to understand their process requirements, pain points, and improvement needs, translating operational reality into precise SAP EWM configuration and development specifications
- Contribute to the end-to-end project lifecycle from initial concept through Go-Live — supporting new SAP EWM process implementations and enhancements across the full SDLC from blueprint and concept through Customizing, testing, cutover planning, Go-Live support, and hypercare, with the project management awareness that delivery to schedule and quality requires
Key-User-Schulungen, Dienstleistersteuerung & SAP-Projektleitung
- Conduct Key-User-Schulungen (key user training) — developing and delivering training programmes that build genuine SAP EWM operational competency in the warehouse and logistics teams who use the system daily, with the pedagogical clarity and practical focus that helps business users become confidently self-sufficient rather than dependent on the SAP team for routine system questions
- Steer external service providers (externe Dienstleister) — managing the technical and commercial relationships with external SAP consultants and development partners who support specific EWM projects or specialised development activities, with the project oversight and quality control capability to ensure that external contributions meet the quality, timeline, and specification standards required
- Take on SAP (partial) project leadership (SAP Teilprojektleitung) — planning, coordinating, and reporting on SAP EWM sub-projects or workstreams within larger SAP programme contexts, with the leadership credibility, stakeholder communication skill, and project management discipline that effective SAP project accountability requires
Qualifications & Requirements — Anforderungen
Essential Requirements
- Professional experience as SAP EWM Consultant (m/w/d) — demonstrating the practical SAP EWM implementation, Customizing, and operational support experience that eigenverantwortliche Betreuung of a modern SAP EWM landscape in a growing company requires
- Fundierte Kenntnisse (deep knowledge) and Customizing expertise in SAP EWM — across the core SAP EWM configuration areas including warehouse structure, storage type and bin management, putaway and picking strategies, transfer order processing, goods receipt and goods issue processing, and SAP EWM automation and RF framework configuration
- Additional knowledge in SAP TM and SAP LE — for the cross-module logistics integration context of an SAP landscape where EWM, Transportation Management, and Logistics Execution interact
- Very good German language skills (sehr gute Deutschkenntnisse) — for professional engagement with business departments, Key-Users, project stakeholders, and management in a German-speaking company environment
- Good English language skills — for SAP documentation, international vendor communication, and cross-border project participation
