As Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (MEP) at Go Tech Construction in Dubai, you will lead the technical design, coordination, and delivery of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems across a diverse portfolio of UAE projects spanning commercial, residential, hospitality, healthcare, and mixed-use developments. Key Responsibilities
MEP System Design — HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing & Fire Protection
- Lead the design and development of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems for commercial, residential, hospitality, healthcare, and mixed-use projects across the UAE
- Produce and review HVAC load calculations (using HAP), plumbing and drainage calculations, electrical load schedules, voltage drop calculations, lighting calculations (DIALux Evo), and fire protection system designs
- Review client requirements, project specifications, and contract documents to develop efficient, code-compliant MEP design solutions tailored to each project’s specific technical and commercial requirements
- Prepare and review design calculations, technical reports, equipment schedules, and full engineering documentation — ensuring all outputs meet UAE regulations, international standards, and project specifications
Multidisciplinary Design Coordination & BIM Management
- Coordinate MEP designs with Architectural, Structural, Civil, and Interior Design teams — proactively managing interfaces and resolving design conflicts before they impact programme or cost
- Lead multidisciplinary coordination meetings and drive the resolution of design clashes — using Navisworks and BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud to ensure clash-free integrated design delivery
- Review BIM/Revit MEP models and coordinate with BIM Engineers to achieve fully coordinated, construction-ready design outputs that meet Go Tech’s BIM execution plan requirements
- Ensure timely submission of coordinated shop drawings and Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings — maintaining design delivery schedules across all active projects simultaneously
Authority Approvals — DEWA, Dubai Municipality, Civil Defense & Others
- Liaise directly with local authorities including Dubai Municipality, DEWA, Dubai Civil Defense, RTA, DCD, Etisalat, and DU — managing all authority interactions for MEP design submissions and approvals
- Prepare and review comprehensive authority submission packages — ensuring all submissions are technically complete, accurately documented, and formatted to meet each authority’s specific requirements
- Address authority technical comments efficiently and proactively — coordinating with the design team to respond and resubmit within required timelines to avoid project delays
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key UAE regulatory bodies — building Go Tech’s reputation as a reliable, technically capable submission partner across Dubai’s regulatory landscape
Technical Leadership, Mentoring & Value Engineering
- Mentor and supervise Design Engineers, BIM Engineers, and Draftsmen within the Go Tech MEP team — developing technical capability, reviewing work quality, and providing clear engineering guidance
- Conduct rigorous technical reviews of all MEP drawings before submission — ensuring accuracy, code compliance, completeness, and design integration across all project deliverables
- Identify and implement value engineering opportunities — recommending alternative materials, systems, and engineering solutions that reduce cost without compromising compliance or operational quality
- Provide technical assistance to project execution teams — reviewing RFIs, method statements, material submittals, and resolving site engineering issues through practical, buildable design modifications
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a relevant engineering discipline — required for this Senior MEP Design Engineer role at Go Tech Construction Dubai
