Position Overview
This Senior UAV Operator role requires a technically driven individual who can operate UAV platforms while also contributing to integration, testing, troubleshooting, and system validation. You will assist in planning and executing UAV test flights, perform pre-flight checks and post-flight analyses, operate diverse UAV platforms, support validation of new software builds and payload configurations, and collaborate closely with design, software, and hardware teams to ensure seamless technology integration.

Key Responsibilities
Flight Test Execution
- Assist in planning and executing UAV test flights per test protocols, safety procedures, and performance objectives
- Execute pre-flight checks, flight test briefings, and post-flight analyses under supervision
- Operate diverse UAV platforms including fixed-wing, VTOL, and Drone-in-a-Box systems
- Support validation of new software builds, payload configurations, and avionics updates
Technical & Integration Support
- Participate in integration activities including sensors, communication systems, and avionics modules
- Perform hands-on technical tasks such as wiring checks, hardware installation, and system calibration
- Troubleshoot system issues during ground and flight testing, providing rapid feedback to engineering teams
- Collaborate with design, software, and hardware teams for seamless technology integration
Test Planning & Data Analysis
- Contribute to preparation of test plans, test cards, and technical procedures
- Record and analyze test data, supporting engineering teams with structured feedback
- Assist in documenting integration activities and technical findings for iterative development
Safety, Compliance & Reporting
- Strictly adhere to safety standards, aviation regulations, and operational policies
- Participate in risk assessments and contribute to enhancing test safety protocols
- Maintain clear communication with the Chief UAV Test Pilot and multidisciplinary teams
- Document test logs and generate detailed test reports to support continuous improvement
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1–2 years of aviation experience; UAV experience strongly preferred
- OR RC modeling experience with fixed or rotary wing
- OR general aviation experience — LSA or GA pilot with 100+ hours
Essential Skills
- Strong technical background mandatory, with hands-on experience in robotics, electronics, avionics, or hardware integration
- Proven ability to perform technical troubleshooting, hardware setup, wiring verification, and system-level diagnostics
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline required
- Demonstrated accountability, trustworthiness, and ability to perform in high-pressure environments
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, dynamic environments and challenging outdoor conditions

- Certification or qualification from recognized aviation authorities (FAA/EASA/ICAO or equivalent)
