Position Overview
The stv. Wohnbereichsleitung (Deputy Care Unit Manager) at ItzTerrassen in Coburg is a meaningful, professionally growing, and personally rewarding nursing leadership role in one of Bavaria’s newest and most attractively positioned residential care facilities. You will step into a deputy leadership function that supports the Wohnbereichsleitung across all aspects of care unit management — from duty rota coordination and nursing visits through quality assurance, care process steering, resident-oriented care planning, and team support — in a 2022-built, modern facility that combines the warmth of a family-like Charleston team culture with the professional standards of a structured, quality-focused care organisation.
What makes this role particularly distinctive is the active, structured Weiterbildung commitment — ItzTerrassen explicitly supports and encourages the professional development of its nursing team, including the pathway toward Wohnbereichsleitung, Praxisanleitung, and Palliativfachkraft qualifications. For an experienced Pflegefachkraft who is ready to take on deputy leadership responsibility and use this role as a launchpad for further professional advancement in the care sector, ItzTerrassen Coburg provides both the environment and the active organisational support to make that development happen.
Why the stv. Wohnbereichsleitung Role at ItzTerrassen Coburg Is an Exceptional Care Career Opportunity in 2026: Germany’s care sector is facing a significant and well-documented shortage of qualified nursing leadership professionals — making experienced Pflegefachkräfte who are ready to step into deputy unit management roles genuinely valuable and consistently sought after across Bavarian care facilities. ItzTerrassen’s 2022 opening, modern facility design, River Itz riverside location, Charleston family culture, and structured Weiterbildung support package combine to make this Coburg care home one of the most professionally attractive workplaces for an ambitious Pflegefachkraft in Upper Franconia right now. Above-average night and weekend supplements, company pension contributions, Bikeleasing, and team events round out a benefits package that reflects genuine employer commitment to staff wellbeing.
Deine neuen Aufgaben — Key Responsibilities
Deputy Unit Leadership & Team Support
- Assist stellvertretend with duty rota planning (Dienstplangestaltung) and support the Wohnbereichsleitung during nursing and employee visits (Pflege- und Mitarbeitervisiten) — taking active co-responsibility for the administrative, organisational, and supervisory functions of the care unit that ensure the Wohnbereichsleitung can operate effectively and that the unit continues to run smoothly in the WBL’s absence
- Communicate and cooperate with all departments within the facility — serving as an effective cross-functional liaison between the care unit team and the broader ItzTerrassen organisation, ensuring that information flows clearly between the Wohnbereich and facility management, therapy, social services, household, and other functional areas
- Advise, accompany, and support the nursing team members of the Wohnbereich in their day-to-day clinical and professional work — providing accessible, empathetic, and knowledgeable leadership support to nursing staff who have questions, face clinical challenges, or need guidance in delivering care to ItzTerrassen’s 84 residents to the standard they deserve
Resident-Centred Care — Grund- und Behandlungspflege
- Ensure resident-oriented, individual Grund- und Behandlungspflege — maintaining responsibility for the quality and appropriateness of basic and treatment nursing care provided to each resident within the Wohnbereich, ensuring that every care activity respects the resident’s individuality, dignity, preferences, and specific care needs as documented in their care plan
- Oversee the planning, implementation, and steering of the Pflegeprozess — taking active leadership responsibility for the nursing process across the Wohnbereich, ensuring that care assessments are current and accurate, care plans reflect each resident’s actual needs, nursing interventions are appropriately selected and executed, and care outcomes are evaluated and adjusted on an ongoing basis
- Document and evaluate the execution and effectiveness of nursing measures (Pflegemaßnahmen) on a continuous and comprehensible basis — maintaining the accurate, current, and professionally structured nursing documentation that supports continuity of care, demonstrates compliance with care standards, and provides the audit trail that regulatory inspections and quality reviews require
Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain quality standards and actively participate in continuous improvement processes — applying quality management awareness and professional nursing judgement to identify opportunities for care quality improvement, contribute constructively to internal quality initiatives, and ensure that ItzTerrassen’s care documentation, nursing practices, and resident outcomes consistently meet and progressively exceed the standards that Bavaria’s care quality frameworks require
- Support the facility’s commitment to structured, regulation-compliant, and resident-centred care quality — contributing to inspection preparation, quality audits, and internal review processes with the professional rigour and collaborative team spirit that maintaining Charleston Group’s care quality standards in a newly established Coburg facility demands
