Position Overview
The Supply Chain Lead at Vention Munich is a hands-on, analytically driven operational role at the heart of Vention’s EMEA supply chain function. You will own the overall MRP (Material Requirements Planning) process — including daily and mid-term execution — manage inbound logistics and customs tracking, maintain and assess key supply chain KPI dashboards covering OTD, inventory turns, and fill rate, drive inventory health, and collaborate closely with the Montreal team on NPI parts, end-of-life management, and master data integrity. This role requires strong analytical tools proficiency, excellent cross-functional communication, and the operational drive to flag risks, solve problems, and deliver parts on time in a fast-paced global manufacturing automation environment.
Why This Role Matters: As Supply Chain Lead at Vention Munich, you are the operational backbone of EMEA’s supply chain — the person who ensures the right parts arrive at the right time so Vention’s customers can deploy cutting-edge manufacturing automation equipment within days. Your MRP execution, logistics tracking, inventory management, supplier risk assessments, and KPI reporting directly enable Vention’s promise to its customers and its ambitious growth trajectory across the European manufacturing automation market.
Key Responsibilities
MRP Ownership & Supply Execution
- Own the overall Supply MRP (Material Requirements Planning) process — executing daily and mid-term MRP runs to ensure parts availability aligns precisely with production schedules and customer delivery commitments
- Review local supplier performance regularly and conduct risk assessments jointly with the Supply Chain Director — identifying and mitigating supply risks before they impact operations
- Work collaboratively with the Operations Team to support order planning and scheduling, ensure on-time parts delivery, and proactively flag supply risks to relevant stakeholders
Inbound Logistics & Customs Management
- Manage inbound logistics and customs tracking — following up directly with carriers and the Montreal logistics team to ensure timely clearance and delivery of all inbound shipments to Munich
- Conduct proactive risk assessment and mitigation for all inbound logistics flows — identifying delays, customs hold risks, and carrier performance issues before they escalate into production disruptions
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all inbound shipment statuses, customs clearance milestones, and carrier performance data for management reporting
Inventory Health & KPI Reporting
- Maintain and assess key supply chain KPI reporting dashboards — covering OTD (On-Time Delivery), inventory turns, and fill rate — to provide clear, actionable visibility of supply chain performance to leadership
- Take full ownership of inventory health — investigating inbound and inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes of stock issues, and driving concrete corrective recommendations to resolution
- Monitor inventory levels proactively to prevent stockouts and excess inventory situations — optimizing working capital while ensuring production continuity at all times
Montreal Collaboration — NPI & Master Data
- Work closely with Vention’s Montreal team on New Product Introduction (NPI) parts planning — ensuring new components are sourced, qualified, and available in Munich ahead of production launch dates
- Manage end-of-life parts transitions — identifying obsolescence risks, coordinating with engineering and procurement on last-buy decisions, and managing rundown inventory efficiently
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date master data in supply chain systems — ensuring item records, lead times, supplier data, and inventory parameters reflect current operational realities
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Ensure effective engagement, collaboration, and cooperation with internal clients and suppliers — acting as a trusted supply chain partner for Operations, Sales, Engineering, and Finance teams across EMEA and globally
- Communicate supply chain risks, constraints, and opportunities clearly and proactively to all relevant stakeholders — enabling confident business decision-making across functions
- Contribute to continuous improvement of supply chain processes, data quality, and reporting tools — supporting Vention’s ambition to build a best-in-class EMEA supply chain operation
Qualifications & Requirements

- Strong working experience with MRP systems and supply chain planning tools — hands-on daily execution experience strongly preferred
