Position Overview

As a Warehouse Assistant at Hytera Communications Europe in North Rhine-Westphalia, you will be a key part of the logistics and distribution team — keeping the warehouse running smoothly, accurately, and efficiently every single day. Your responsibilities span the full warehouse cycle: receiving and checking incoming deliveries, allocating and managing storage, picking and preparing outbound orders, and dispatching shipments via the UPS World Ship System. You will need to be detail-oriented, physically capable, and comfortable working in a fast-moving team environment. Proficiency in German and English is essential for day-to-day operations, and a forklift licence will give your application a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities & Main Duties

Dispatch Operations

  • Process all outbound shipments via the UPS World Ship System
  • Ensure accurate labelling, documentation, and packaging for all dispatched orders
  • Coordinate dispatch timing to meet customer and carrier collection schedules

Goods In

  • Load and unload delivered goods safely and efficiently
  • Check that the correct quantity and type of goods have been received against purchase orders
  • Record any damaged, missing, or faulty goods and escalate discrepancies immediately
  • Sign delivery forms once fully satisfied the delivery is complete and accurate

Storage & Stock Control

  • Allocate storage space to incoming goods in designated areas
  • Relocate and re-stack goods to create space for new deliveries and optimise warehouse layout
  • Maintain accurate records of goods, their location, and current stock quantities

Goods Out & Order Picking

  • Pick goods accurately from printed picking lists for customer orders
  • Maintain up-to-date records of all goods picked and movements made
  • Move and stack goods ready for outbound delivery in a safe, organised manner

General Warehouse Operations

  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment at all times, adhering to health and safety procedures and company standards.
  • Support the wider warehouse and logistics team with any additional duties as required during busy periods or operational demand peaks.
  • Use IT systems accurately for stock recording, dispatch, and reporting — ensuring all warehouse data is current and correct at all times.
  • Operate warehouse equipment — including potentially a forklift (licence desirable) — safely and in compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations.

What You Need to Apply — Requirements

Language Requirements

  • German and English language proficiency — mandatory. Both languages are actively used in daily warehouse operations, supplier communication, and reporting at Hytera’s NRW facility.

Experience & Skills

  • Solid work experience in warehouse and distribution — prior hands-on experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution centre environment is essential.
  • Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines — the warehouse environment is fast-paced and output-driven, requiring consistent performance and reliability.
  • Good organisational skills with strong attention to detail — accuracy in goods receiving, stock records, and order picking is fundamental to this role.
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and independently — the role requires both collaborative shift work and self-managed task completion.
  • Competent IT skills — comfortable using warehouse management systems, UPS World Ship, and general office/reporting software for digital record-keeping.
  • Forklift licence is desirable — candidates holding a valid forklift operating licence will have a distinct advantage in the selection process.

Language Note: Both German and English are essential for this position at Hytera Communications Europe in NRW. German is required for day-to-day supplier deliveries, local carrier communication, and warehouse team interaction. English is used for internal reporting, international shipment documentation, and coordination with Hytera’s European and global operations teams. Strong bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Who Should Apply?

  • Experienced Warehouse Operatives: With solid goods in/out, stock control, and order picking experience in a busy distribution or logistics environment in Germany.
  • Bilingual German-English Speakers: Warehouse professionals who communicate fluently in both languages and are based in or willing to commute to North Rhine-Westphalia.
  • Forklift Licence Holders: Candidates with a valid forklift operating certificate will have a strong advantage — this is a highly desirable qualification for this role.
  • Tech-Comfortable Warehouse Workers: Those with experience using digital warehouse management or dispatch systems such as UPS World Ship or similar platforms.
  • Motivated Entry-Level Candidates: Individuals with relevant warehouse experience looking to join a global professional technology company with strong career foundations in NRW.
