Position Overview
This 4-Axis CNC Machining Center Operator role involves setting up, programming and running 4-axis CNC machining centers to produce aluminum components, selecting and installing tools, loading materials and performing test runs, monitoring machine performance and adjusting parameters for accuracy, inspecting finished parts with measuring instruments, documenting production data, performing routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting, and collaborating with supervisors to prioritize jobs and optimize cycle times.

Key Responsibilities
CNC Machine Setup & Operation
- Set up, program and run 4-axis CNC machining centers to produce aluminum components
- Select and install tools, load materials, and perform test runs
- Monitor machine performance and adjust parameters to maintain accuracy and surface quality
Quality Inspection & Documentation
- Inspect finished parts using appropriate measuring instruments
- Document production data accurately
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs and servicing when needed
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with supervisors and colleagues to prioritize jobs and optimize cycle times
- Follow safety procedures and support continuous improvement in machining processes
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience Requirements
- Demonstrated experience operating CNC machining centers, preferably 4-axis, including setup and programming adjustments
- Prior experience in aluminum fabrication or extrusion environments is an advantage
Essential Skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, CAD/CAM outputs and work instructions
- Strong understanding of machining tolerances and finishes
- Proficiency using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) for dimensional inspection
- Knowledge of cutting tools, feeds and speeds, and best practices for machining aluminum
- Familiarity with basic machine maintenance and fault identification
- Commitment to workplace safety, housekeeping and standard operating procedures
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational or technical training in machining or manufacturing preferred
