Position Overview
This Screwman / Screed Operator role involves operating and adjusting the screed system of asphalt paver machines during road paving operations, monitoring asphalt material flow to ensure a smooth and uniform paving surface. You will make necessary screed adjustments per site conditions, assist in maintaining proper asphalt temperature and material distribution, carry out basic cleaning and maintenance, and identify and report machine or paving issues.

Key Responsibilities
Screed Operation & Paving Control
- Operate and adjust the screed system of asphalt paver machines during road paving operations
- Maintain required paving width, thickness, level, slope, and alignment
- Monitor asphalt material flow and ensure a smooth, uniform paving surface
Team Coordination & Site Adjustments
- Work closely with the Paver Operator, Grade Checker, Surveyor, and Foreman
- Make necessary screed adjustments according to site conditions and project requirements
- Monitor screed and paving performance throughout the operation
Quality, Maintenance & Safety
- Assist in maintaining proper asphalt temperature, material distribution, and paving quality
- Carry out basic cleaning and maintenance of the screed and related equipment
- Identify and report machine or paving issues to the Paver Operator or Foreman
- Follow all HSE procedures and site safety requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience Requirements
- Previous experience as a Screwman / Screed Operator on asphalt paver machines
- Experience in road and infrastructure projects
Essential Skills
- Good knowledge of asphalt paving, screed adjustment, levels, slopes, and paving thickness
- Ability to work effectively with Paver Operators, Grade Checkers, Surveyors, and site teams
- Good understanding of paving quality and surface finishing
Preferred Qualifications
- GCC/UAE road construction experience will be an advantage
