IFFCO Beverage Solutions is seeking an experienced Executive – Product Innovation responsible for developing new products and improving existing formulations while working closely with the Head of NPD to execute all research and development activities in the food and beverage sector.

Roles & Responsibilities

As Executive Product Innovation at IFFCO Beverage Solutions, your responsibilities include:

New Product Development (NPD)

  • Develop new beverage and food products from concept stage through to successful market launch
  • Improve existing product formulations to enhance quality, taste, nutritional profile, or cost efficiency
  • Work closely with Head of NPD to execute research and development activities independently or under supervision
  • Assimilate global and regional trends in food & beverage industry to create innovative new concepts
  • Translate market insights and consumer preferences into viable product concepts

Scale-Up & Manufacturing Support

  • Ensure successful scaling up of NPD prototypes by working with internal and external manufacturing plants
  • Collaborate closely with Supply Chain and Manufacturing teams to transition R&D designs into commercial production
  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes in production plants for new products
  • Ensure optimum and consistent processes in manufacturing facilities to guarantee high-quality outputs
  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide technical support during product launches

Product Testing & Validation

  • Conduct pre-launch storage studies to assess product stability under various conditions
  • Execute shelf-life studies for new products to determine optimal product dating and storage requirements
  • Perform sensory evaluations, quality testing, and performance validation of prototypes
  • Ensure products meet all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements before commercialization

Supplier & Raw Material Management

  • Search for and identify new suppliers to source ingredients, raw materials (RM), and packaging materials (PM)
  • Evaluate and select ingredients that complement and enhance existing product range
  • Develop RM and PM specifications for new ingredients and packaging materials
  • Provide recommendations on packaging material selection based on product requirements
  • Maintain Certificates of Analysis (COA) and specification sheets for new ingredients in initial development stages

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Liaise between production, marketing, and quality assurance departments to deliver desired products at acceptable quality standards
  • Work with marketing teams to understand consumer needs and market positioning requirements
  • Collaborate with quality assurance to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and quality standards
  • Coordinate with production teams on manufacturing feasibility and process optimization

Documentation & System Management

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all product development activities
  • Perform online modification of recipes, routing procedures, and formulas in ORACLE system
  • Document formulations, processing parameters, and quality specifications systematically
  • Maintain organized records of trials, experiments, and development progress

Recipe Optimization & Value Engineering

  • Optimize recipes to improve taste, texture, nutritional value, or shelf stability
  • Implement value engineering initiatives to reduce costs while maintaining product quality
  • Identify opportunities for ingredient substitution or process improvements
  • Balance quality requirements with cost efficiency in formulation development

Qualifications & Requirements

The ideal candidate for this executive product innovation position must meet:

Educational Requirements (MANDATORY)

  • Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Dairy Technology
  • OR Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Food Technology
  • OR Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Food Science & Technology
  • Strong academic foundation in food science, food processing, and product development

Work Experience Requirement (MANDATORY)

  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in new product development (NPD) or research & development (R&D)
  • Proven track record in food or beverage product innovation and commercialization
  • Experience scaling up products from pilot to commercial production
  • Practical knowledge of food/beverage manufacturing processes
