Position Overview
This Medical Laboratory Technologist role involves delivering accurate and high-quality diagnostic testing within specialized laboratory environment. You will perform advanced laboratory analyses including DNA extraction, sequencing, and analysis, ensure compliance with regulatory standards (DOH/DHA, ISO, CAP), support continuous improvement of laboratory processes, provide technical expertise, maintain laboratory equipment, and contribute to standardization and quality across laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities
Advanced Laboratory Testing & Analysis
- Perform specialized laboratory testing including DNA extraction, sequencing, and analysis
- Conduct advanced molecular diagnostics procedures in accordance with approved SOPs
- Execute complex laboratory analyses ensuring accuracy and precision
- Utilize state-of-the-art laboratory instrumentation and technologies
Sample Management & Documentation
- Ensure accurate sample handling, labeling, documentation, and data entry in LIMS systems
- Maintain proper sample storage and tracking protocols
- Document all laboratory procedures and maintain detailed records
- Ensure sample integrity throughout testing process
Equipment Management & Maintenance
- Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment including calibration and performance checks
- Conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues
- Ensure proper functioning of specialized diagnostic instruments
- Coordinate equipment service and repairs as needed
Quality Control & Assurance
- Conduct quality control procedures and participate in internal quality assurance programs
- Participate in external quality assurance programs and proficiency testing
- Monitor analytical performance and implement corrective actions when needed
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements
Method Validation & Technology Implementation
- Support method validation, verification, and implementation of new laboratory technologies
- Participate in evaluation of new testing methodologies
- Assist in standardization of laboratory procedures
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Regulatory Compliance & Standards
- Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards (ISO 15189, CAP, DOH/DHA)
- Support laboratory audits and inspections
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and laboratory standards
- Participate in regulatory compliance activities
Inventory Management & Technical Support
- Manage laboratory inventory including reagents and consumables
- Ensure timely availability of laboratory supplies
- Provide technical expertise during audits, inspections, and process improvements
- Support training and development of laboratory staff
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology
- OR Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science
- OR Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology
- OR Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry
- OR related field in laboratory sciences
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years of relevant laboratory training or experience
- Experience in molecular diagnostics or specialized laboratory testing is highly preferred
- Hands-on experience with advanced laboratory instrumentation
Certification Requirements
- Certification/registration with recognized body (ASCP, CSMLS, AIMS, or equivalent)
- IFBLS-recognized institution certification
- Professional laboratory certification in good standing
Essential Skills & Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of laboratory quality standards (ISO 15189, CAP, JCI, DOH/DHA)
- Experience with DNA extraction, sequencing, and molecular analysis techniques
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of LIMS systems and laboratory informatics
- Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements
