This Research Seed Processing Specialist position at Corteva Agriscience in York, Nebraska places you at the heart of cutting-edge agricultural research. You will manage and maintain accurate multi-crop seed inventory, oversee part-time employee teams, coordinate germplasm transfers, support summer corn pollinations, lead seed preparation processes including filling, treating, and planting preparation, and actively participate in field data collection efforts critical for product characterization.  Key Responsibilities

Seed Inventory Management & Supervision

  • Manage and maintain accurate inventory of all multi-crop seeds across the York Research Center facility
  • Supervise part-time employees to efficiently complete seed inventory and seed handling processes
  • Oversee seed requests and coordinate the transfer of germplasm in and out of the research site
  • Manage all associated shipping and receiving processes for seed and germplasm materials

Seed Preparation & Processing Operations

  • Lead designated seed preparation processes including seed filling, treating, and full planting preparation
  • Participate actively with planting and harvest crews during peak operational and seasonal periods
  • Apply strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills to maintain accuracy across all seed processing tasks
  • Operate or learn agricultural equipment with proper training while adhering to all safety requirements

Multi-Crop Breeding & Field Support

  • Assist with all phases of the multi-crop breeding process including experiment planning and implementation
  • Become a key team member for summer corn pollinations and phytosanitary inspections at the research center
  • Participate in all data collection efforts critical for product characterization and experimental evaluation
  • Support multi-functional field activities aligned with research station summer trait and data collection programs

Safety Leadership & Team Collaboration

  • Lead and champion site safety culture by ensuring strict adherence to all established safety standards
  • Build effective working relationships with a diverse team through excellent communication and personal interaction
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving and strategic analysis skills in a deadline-driven research environment
  • Work extended hours and partial weekends during seasonal peaks as required by operational demands

 Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Requirements

  • Minimum Associate’s degree with 2 years of relevant work experience — required for all applicants
  • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or related discipline is strongly preferred and highly advantageous

Experience Requirements

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in agronomy, crop production, seed handling, or agricultural research
  • Knowledge of crop production, plant development, and experimental field plot design preferred
  • Ability to operate agricultural equipment with proper training while observing all safety requirements

Essential Skills

  • Demonstrated problem-solving, strategic analysis, and strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational ability in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
