Key Responsibilities
Laboratory Testing — Microbiological & Chemical Analysis
- Coordinate with the production team for regular and timely sample collection across Farm Fresh product categories
- Conduct comprehensive microbiological analyses to detect contamination risks and ensure product safety standards are met
- Perform chemical analyses on Farm Fresh food samples to verify compliance with product specifications and quality standards
- Ensure all environmental and sanitation standards within the laboratory are consistently maintained to the highest levels
Equipment Calibration, Setup & Maintenance
- Set up and calibrate all laboratory equipment before use, ensuring accuracy and reliability of all testing procedures
- Ensure all laboratory instruments and equipment are properly maintained, serviced, and functioning correctly at all times
- Report any equipment malfunctions, damage, or calibration failures to the appropriate personnel for prompt repair
- Develop and maintain efficient workflows for sample processing and routine laboratory operations to maximise testing throughput
Documentation, Reporting & Traceability
- Accurately record all test results, observations, and relevant data in lab logs and digital systems including SAP
- Prepare clear, well-structured reports summarising test findings and quality outcomes for management and relevant departments
- Maintain full traceability records for all samples tested — ensuring documentation supports quality audits and regulatory reviews
- Document all laboratory anomalies, variances, and corrective actions accurately and in a timely manner
Quality Compliance, Audits & Corrective Actions
- Support the Quality team by implementing corrective actions and contributing to root cause analysis when deviations are identified
- Participate actively in safety and quality audits — both internal and those conducted in coordination with external agencies
- Ensure Farm Fresh products consistently comply with all local UAE and international food safety guidelines and regulatory requirements
- Assist in updating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all laboratory processes and testing methodologies
SOP Development, Training & Cross-Functional Support
- Contribute to the training and development of laboratory staff, sharing knowledge of food safety testing and quality protocols
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe laboratory environment — ensuring hazardous materials are handled and disposed of correctly
- Work closely with production, research, and quality teams to provide accurate laboratory data for informed business decision-making
- Coordinate with external agencies and regulatory bodies to support Farm Fresh compliance with applicable food safety standards
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a closely related scientific discipline
- Additional certifications in food safety, laboratory quality management, or HACCP are a valued competitive advantage
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3–4 years of hands-on laboratory experience, preferably within the food manufacturing industry
- Demonstrated experience in food safety testing, quality control, and quality assurance across food production environments
- Proven experience operating laboratory equipment, conducting calibrations, and performing basic troubleshooting procedures
- Practical familiarity with food safety standards, UAE regulatory requirements, and international compliance frameworks
