Position Overview
This Team Leader I — Poultry position at Almarai’s Hail facility is a full-time, on-site production leadership role at the core of the company’s poultry processing operations. You will take end-to-end responsibility for leading a multi-functional team through efficient poultry intake and processing, ensuring all products meet Almarai’s internal quality requirements and customer specifications. The role combines daily production management with internal HACCP auditing, process optimization, SOP development, safety risk assessments, and people management — all underpinned by Almarai’s world-class quality and food safety standards. Key Responsibilities
Poultry Production Team Leadership
- Lead a self-directing, multi-functional poultry team to efficiently manage the intake and processing of specified poultry products to meet internal customer requirements
- Finalize and implement the daily production plan in collaboration with Production Management, ensuring all targets and timelines are met consistently
- Manage team activities covering both production operations and routine maintenance activities across the poultry processing facility
- Build a cohesive, high-performing team culture through strong people management skills, clear communication, and confident decision-making under pressure
HACCP & Quality Auditing
- Conduct internal Quality and HACCP audits across the poultry processing operation to verify ongoing compliance with food safety and quality standards
- Apply internal auditor knowledge and HACCP expertise to identify non-conformances, document findings, and implement corrective actions promptly
- Ensure all poultry processing activities comply fully with Almarai’s ISO standards, HACCP plans, and applicable Saudi food safety regulations
- Support external audits and certification renewals by maintaining audit-ready documentation, records, and operational practices at all times
Process Optimization & SOP Development
- Identify and propose modifications and process optimization opportunities to improve service levels, productivity, and efficiency within the poultry department
- Develop, implement, and maintain systems and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) relevant to poultry processing and plant operations
- Support plant commissioning activities and contribute technical expertise to the successful integration of new equipment and production processes
- Drive a continuous improvement mindset across the team by encouraging suggestions, analyzing production data, and acting on optimization opportunities
Safety, Risk Assessment & Compliance
- Conduct structured Safety and Risk Assessments across all poultry processing activities to proactively identify and mitigate workplace hazards
- Enforce strict compliance with Almarai’s safety standards, food hygiene requirements, and GMP protocols across the full processing line
- Ensure all team members are trained in safe working practices, correct use of equipment, and emergency response procedures
- Report safety incidents, near misses, and risk findings to management promptly and implement corrective and preventive actions as required
People Management & Team Development
- Apply strong people management skills to recruit, develop, motivate, and retain a productive and engaged poultry processing team
- Communicate production targets, quality expectations, and safety requirements clearly and effectively — both verbally and in writing
- Handle work pressure decisively and calmly, maintaining team performance and production continuity during challenging operational situations
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning across all levels of the poultry production team
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Diploma in Poultry Processing, Food Technology, or a closely related discipline is required for this position
- Certificate in Supervisory Management is desirable and will significantly strengthen a candidate’s application
- Internal Auditor qualification with demonstrated knowledge of HACCP and ISO quality management standards is required
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar team leader or supervisory position within a poultry food processing environment
- Proven experience finalizing and implementing daily production plans in collaboration with production management teams
- Demonstrated ability to develop systems, SOPs, and support plant commissioning in a food manufacturing setting
Essential Skills
- Internal auditor knowledge and practical experience in conducting HACCP and Quality audits within a food production facility
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills — particularly effective under the time pressures of a fast-moving production environment
- Excellent people management and team-building skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop a multi-functional production team
