Position Overview
AECOM is seeking a driven and technically capable Electrical Engineer to join their Building Engineering division in Dubai, UAE. You will serve as a confident engineering professional within a collaborative multi-discipline design team, taking responsibility for electrical engineering design outputs, BIM model accuracy, technical drawing production, and design coordination across disciplines — all working under the guidance of a Senior Engineer. Key Responsibilities
Electrical Engineering Design & Project Delivery
- Develop accurate and high-quality electrical engineering designs for building engineering projects across Dubai, UAE
- Work on specific project elements with confidence and professional initiative, requiring minimal direction from senior team members
- Ensure all design outputs are fully compliant with the agreed project design brief, scope specifications, and applicable UAE codes
- Deliver engineering work products on time, to the correct quality standard, and within approved project budget constraints
BIM Model Production & Drawing Delivery
- Produce detailed and construction-ready BIM models for electrical engineering components on active building engineering projects
- Create comprehensive technical engineering drawings that accurately reflect design intent and meet project delivery requirements
- Maintain BIM model integrity, drawing version control, and documentation accuracy throughout all project design lifecycle stages
- Ensure all BIM deliverables meet AECOM’s internal quality benchmarks and client-specific BIM execution plan requirements fully
Design Brief Compliance & Quality Self-Check
- Ensure every engineering design output is complete, accurate, and fully aligned with the agreed project design brief requirements
- Perform a thorough and independent self-check of all work products before submitting them for senior engineer review or client delivery
- Proactively flag any design inconsistencies, errors, or compliance gaps to the Senior Engineer before they escalate into project issues
- Uphold AECOM’s unwavering commitment to accuracy, completeness, and technical quality in every single engineering deliverable produced
Cross-Discipline Design Coordination
- Coordinate electrical engineering design activities closely within the engineering team and across all relevant project disciplines
- Collaborate actively with mechanical, structural, civil, and building services engineering colleagues to detect and resolve design clashes early
- Contribute technical input to design coordination meetings, workshops, and multi-discipline project reviews throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with architectural, structural, and full MEP design requirements across every project
Professional Growth & Team Contribution
- Build strong working relationships with Senior Engineers, absorbing technical knowledge and developing electrical engineering expertise daily

Qualifications & Requirements
- BSc or BEng degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Building Services Engineering from an accredited university
- Local Authority Engineer registration in the UAE is preferred and represents a significant advantage in the selection process
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of post-undergraduate professional experience in electrical engineering design or a closely related engineering discipline
- Hands-on experience producing engineering designs, accurate BIM models, and technical drawings within a structured professional design team
- Prior exposure to multi-disciplinary building engineering or infrastructure projects in the UAE or wider GCC market is a clear advantage
Essential Skills
- Strong foundational electrical engineering knowledge applied confidently to real-world building engineering design projects in Dubai
- Proficiency in BIM modelling tools and engineering design software commonly used in professional building services environments
