- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines that support AI initiatives and analytical operations

- Monitor and continuously optimise data pipelines for performance, scalability, and reliability in a high-volume environment
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in data engineering technologies, frameworks, and industry best practices
AI & Data Science Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with data scientists to fully understand their requirements and ensure consistent data availability and quality
- Ensure all data delivered to analytical and modelling workflows is accurate, complete, and transformation-ready
- Support AI initiative delivery by building robust data infrastructure that scales with growing modelling complexity
- Communicate clearly and effectively with data science and engineering team members throughout the full implementation lifecycle
Technical Architecture & Agile Delivery
- Contribute to low-level architecture and technical design aligned with high-level solution requirements and business goals
- Work within the agile development team to analyse and decompose user stories into clearly defined, implementable tasks
- Proactively identify new frameworks, tools, and processes that enhance the efficiency and output of the development team

Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field
Experience Requirements
- 6+ years of proven experience working as a Data Engineer or in a comparable data engineering or ETL role
- 5+ years of hands-on Python programming experience — this is a firm requirement for this position
- Prior experience in the airline industry or a similarly data-intensive, mission-critical environment is strongly preferred
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in programming languages including Python, Java, or Scala for data pipeline development and transformation logic
- Strong hands-on experience with data processing frameworks — particularly Apache Spark for large-scale data operations
