Position Overview

This Inspector – Structural role is responsible for site supervision and inspections on bridge and structural works, ensuring contractor compliance with contract documents, specifications, and health and safety measures. You will maintain daily resource and equipment records, prepare daily reports for the RE or SE, apply quality control procedures, monitor QA/QC activities, and support the resolution of site problems while maintaining accurate records of project milestones, materials tests, and executed works.

Key Responsibilities

Site Supervision & Compliance

  • Be familiar with project contract documents, detailed drawings, specifications, and health and safety measures
  • Ensure contractor compliance with contract document standards and specifications
  • Undertake all site supervision and inspections when required by the RE or SE
  • Follow up and implement any site instructions made by the RE and SE

QA/QC & Quality Control

  • Apply and implement all quality control and quality procedures of the site
  • Monitor contractor QA/QC activities and maintain relevant records
  • Audit inspections for conformity to contract documents and contractor submitted plans
  • Maintain records of materials tests performed and executed works

Reporting & Coordination

  • Maintain records of contractor human and equipment daily resources
  • Liaise and follow up daily with the contractor on resources, health and safety, and equipment needs
  • Prepare daily reports to the RE or SE, including works orders and materials delivery
  • Coordinate with client project managers during site inspections in the presence of the RE or SE
  • Assist the SE and RE in preparing correspondence in compliance with contract documents

Surveying, Milestones & Handover

  • Prepare site measurements and surveying checks for bridge work and associated structures
  • Monitor start-up, commissioning, and handover of site works
  • Maintain records of project milestones throughout the construction lifecycle
  • Work with the RE or SE to resolve site problems promptly

Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in similar projects
  • Minimum 3 years of experience specifically within the UAE
  • Relevant experience in comparable structural and roads projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • RTA Approval is preferred
  • Strong UAE construction industry experience preferred
