Position Overview
This Software Engineer – Human Data Platforms role involves shipping features across backend (Python/FastAPI) and frontend (React/Next.js/TypeScript), building data pipelines for evaluation and model control layers, owning secure document pipelines across S3/GCS/Azure, developing OCR and search systems for PDFs and scanned documents, parsing complex nested JSON structures, building document tooling for generating and annotating PDFs/images, and debugging and scaling pipelines and storage systems for performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
Full-Stack Feature Development
- Ship features across backend (Python/FastAPI) and frontend (React/Next.js/TypeScript)
- Improve performance, reliability, and system design across the stack
Data Pipelines & Model Evaluation Infrastructure
- Build data pipelines for evaluation and model control layers
- Debug and scale pipelines and storage systems
Secure Document Infrastructure
- Own secure document pipelines across S3/GCS/Azure, including permissions and data leakage prevention
- Develop OCR and search systems for PDFs, images, and scanned documents
Data Parsing & Document Tooling
- Parse and enforce complex nested JSON structures
- Build document tooling to generate, edit, and annotate PDFs and images
Qualifications & Requirements
Core Technical Requirements
- Strong builder with Python (FastAPI) and React experience
- Comfortable working across the full stack
- Solid fundamentals: APIs, SQL, async systems, and data modeling
Infrastructure Experience
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure)
- Ability to work with complex data systems or pipelines
Working Style
- High ownership, low ego, and fast execution
- Ability to overlap with PST timezone for at least 6-8 hours
Preferred Experience
- LLM / AI system experience
- OCR, document processing, or search systems experience
- Experience with secure data handling and permissions
- Track record of building and shipping real production systems, not just tutorials
