Position Overview
This Manager Crew Insights & Optimization role drives cost savings, crew roster optimisation, and scheduling efficiency by developing advanced analytical models — descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive — and deploying them in Etihad’s operational ecosystem. The role develops and maintains model calibration, monitors benefits, provides monthly leadership reports and actionable insights, researches opportunities to enhance business processes through analytical solutions, communicates insights to stakeholders, and manages user acceptance testing and rollout of new models and enhancements to ensure delivery against business requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Advanced Analytical Model Development & Deployment
- Drive cost savings, crew roster optimisation, and scheduling efficiency by developing advanced analytical models (descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, prescriptive)
- Deploy models within Etihad’s operational ecosystem to generate measurable business impact
- Develop and maintain model calibration to ensure models remain relevant and optimal for the current business state
Insights, Reporting & Stakeholder Communication
- Monitor the benefits of advanced analytical models and provide monthly reports and actionable insights to the leadership team
- Research and propose ways to enhance existing business processes using advanced analytical solutions
- Communicate and present insights clearly to relevant stakeholders across Operations and leadership
Model Testing, Rollout & Continuous Improvement
- Manage user acceptance testing (UAT) and rollout of new models and enhancements to existing ones
- Ensure delivery of requirements as per business needs without severe defects or performance bugs
- Continuously improve models and processes through structured analytical research and innovation
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or Data Science
Experience Requirements
- 4–6+ years of relevant experience designing, implementing, and maintaining data science models in a business setting
- Advanced knowledge of statistics and mathematical concepts underpinning advanced analytics models
- Experience using Python, SQL, and cloud-based data warehouses
- Experience building, deploying, and maintaining advanced analytical or data models in production environments
- Experience using GitHub or similar tools for code management and version control
- Experience using Databricks for modelling
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for leadership and stakeholder audiences
Preferred Experience
- Experience within the aviation or travel industry in operational areas — strongly preferred
- Desirable: experience in crew data-related analytical roles in the airline industry
- Innovative and entrepreneurial mindset with deep analytical skills
