Position Overview
This Assistant Quality Manager role at Americana in Riyadh is responsible for supporting the implementation and expansion of the quality management system across the market. You will execute the annual Market Quality Plan, manage food safety and brand compliance, lead supplier and store audits, support food safety incident investigations, analyze quality data, manage food complaints, and collaborate effectively across internal and external stakeholders to maintain the highest standards of food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Key Accountabilities
Annual Quality Plan Execution
- Provide support to execute elements of the annual Market Quality Plan (QP), ensuring all allocated tasks are completed through the year
- If serving as Market QA Lead, propose the annual Market QP and align with the QA Director before the start of year
- Track and report Quality Plan execution progress against KPIs on a regular basis
Food Safety, Supplier & Store Audits
- Provide support on all food safety, quality opportunities, and initiatives including supplier and product approval
- Ensure planned supplier, DC, commissary, and store audits and product surveillance programmes are completed
- Communicate and train food safety standards and procedures across all relevant stakeholders
- Drive year-on-year improvement in brand food safety audit results with no test failures
Food Safety Incident Management
- Support local Food Safety initiatives including communicating standards and procedures
- Support risk assessment, food safety incident reporting, and serious incident investigation
- Develop and implement effective action plans that reduce risk across brand or market following any serious incident
Data Analysis & Performance Reporting
- Analyze data, report on performance, and identify opportunities to drive improvements as required by the Line Manager
- Submit reports on time and in full; conduct quarterly review meetings with Brand Operations to agree and drive improvement actions
Stakeholder Management & Compliance
- Communicate effectively and maintain strong relationships with internal functions including Procurement, Supply Chain, Property Development, Maintenance, and Operations
- Manage external stakeholder relationships with franchisors, ministry officials, and third-party auditors
- Ensure legal compliance, safety, and quality remain top priorities in all business decisions
Product Quality, Localisation & Complaint Management
- Support product localisation initiatives working with vendors to develop ingredients and raw materials to required specifications
- Ensure product quality is maintained through delivery of product cutting and evaluations
- Manage food complaints through prompt investigation, root cause identification, and corrective actions to meet turnaround time (TAT) targets
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Quality Assurance or QHSE within a relevant food sector: restaurant, food manufacturing, or food processing
- Minimum 2 years in a commercial organisation management role preferred
Job-Specific Technical Skills
- Detailed understanding of food safety management including HACCP, ISO, and GFSI
- Good working knowledge of compliance methodologies, including Lead Auditor or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) credentials
- Proven ability to manage relationships across multiple stakeholders in a complex food business environment
Generic & Leadership Skills
- Ability to operate effectively in a multi-brand, multi-market, multiple stakeholder environment
- Excellent command of English, both verbal and written
- Ability to influence others at senior level and lead change initiatives
- Strong leadership, emotional intelligence, business acumen, and decision-making capabilities
