Position Overview
This Staff Engineer role calls for a technical leader who can independently define and deliver large-scale, multi-phase projects for Landmark Digital’s e-commerce and enterprise tech ecosystem. You will architect resilient microservices, own end-to-end delivery of high-impact initiatives, mentor engineers across teams, and integrate AI-assisted development practices into daily workflows to reduce cycle time and raise code quality.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Drive technical strategy and architecture for complex distributed systems and core platform components
- Own end-to-end delivery of high-impact, multi-team engineering initiatives
- Translate ambiguous business requirements into clear, pragmatic technical solutions
- Define technical roadmaps and sequence projects across teams for timely execution
Software Engineering & System Design
- Architect, develop, and optimize microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud
- Design scalable, resilient, secure cloud-native applications on Azure and AWS
- Lead system design reviews, architecture discussions, and deep technical debugging
- Build shared frameworks and libraries to accelerate delivery across squads
AI & Engineering Productivity
- Champion adoption of LLM and GenAI-driven tools to enhance engineering workflows
- Define standards for secure, effective use of AI code generation and review
- Integrate AI capabilities for unit testing, log analysis, and documentation
- Measure and optimize productivity using cycle time, PR throughput, and code-quality metrics
Team Leadership & Mentoring
- Mentor engineers across multiple teams on design, coding, and best practices
- Participate in hiring and raise the engineering bar through code reviews
- Coordinate with Product, Architecture, QE, and DevOps to resolve dependencies
- Lead incident response, post-mortems, and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
Experience Requirements
- 10+ years of professional Java backend development experience (Minimum requirement)
- Proven experience shipping scalable, high-availability microservices in production
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, and CI/CD pipelines
Essential Skills
- Deep expertise in Java, J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Kafka
- Strong knowledge of Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra and cloud databases
- Experience designing and scaling systems on Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence without authority
