Position Overview

The Quality Control Officer at Arab & India Spices in Ajman is a critical production floor and laboratory quality role responsible for maintaining the highest product quality and food safety standards across the company’s spice manufacturing facility. You will inspect incoming raw materials and outgoing finished products, conduct quality tests on spice and food batches, ensure full compliance with HACCP, ISO 22000, and GMP standards, maintain accurate quality documentation and records, and flag and investigate any non-conformances in the production process — playing a central role in ensuring that every product batch leaving the Arab & India Spices facility is safe, compliant, and meets customer expectations.

Why This Role Matters: As Quality Control Officer at Arab & India Spices Ajman, you are the final quality gatekeeper between the production floor and the consumer — ensuring every spice blend, every raw material batch, and every finished product meets the rigorous quality and safety standards that Arab & India Spices’ customers and the UAE’s food regulatory authorities demand. Your HACCP monitoring, quality tests, inspection documentation, and corrective actions directly protect both consumer health and the company’s hard-earned reputation for spice quality excellence.

 Key Responsibilities

Raw Material Inspection & Incoming Quality Control

  • Inspect all incoming raw materials — including spices, herbs, ingredients, and packaging materials — against defined quality specifications, verifying conformance before release for use in production
  • Collect samples from incoming raw material shipments and conduct physical, chemical, and sensory quality tests — documenting all results accurately and escalating non-conforming materials to the QC Supervisor promptly
  • Maintain detailed records of all incoming material inspections, test results, and supplier quality performance data to support ongoing supplier quality monitoring and improvement activities

Finished Product Quality Testing & Batch Release

  • Conduct comprehensive quality testing on finished spice and food product batches before release — verifying compliance with product specifications covering physical attributes, moisture content, microbial limits, color, aroma, particle size, and labeling accuracy
  • Examine finished product packaging, labeling, net weight, and batch coding for accuracy and compliance — ensuring every unit that leaves the Ajman facility meets Arab & India Spices’ quality standards and UAE food regulatory requirements
  • Make clear batch release or hold decisions based on quality test results — documenting rationale and maintaining full traceability records for each batch inspected and released

HACCP, ISO 22000 & GMP Compliance

  • Ensure full and consistent compliance with HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) requirements across all production areas — monitoring CCPs, verifying corrective actions, and maintaining complete HACCP records and monitoring logs
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the ISO 22000 Food Safety Management System at the Ajman facility — ensuring all QC procedures, documentation, and verification activities meet ISO 22000 requirements
  • Enforce Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards across the production floor — conducting regular GMP checks and coaching production staff on hygiene, housekeeping, and food safety best practices

Quality Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date quality records — including raw material inspection reports, finished product test results, HACCP monitoring logs, non-conformance reports, and corrective action records
  • Prepare clear and structured quality reports for the production and management team — summarizing inspection findings, quality trends, non-conformances, and corrective action status on a regular basis
  • Ensure all quality documentation is properly filed, version-controlled, and audit-ready at all times — supporting internal, customer, and regulatory audits with accurate and complete records

Non-Conformance Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify, document, and investigate product and process non-conformances — determining root causes and recommending practical corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence
  • Follow up on all corrective actions to verify their effective implementation and closure within agreed timelines — maintaining non-conformance records that demonstrate ongoing quality system improvement
  • Contribute actively to continuous quality improvement initiatives at the Ajman facility — bringing forward observations, data, and suggestions that help raise product quality standards and operational efficiency

Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a closely related scientific field

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2–4 years of Quality Control experience — ideally within food manufacturing, spice processing, FMCG production, or a closely related food industry environment in the UAE or GCC
  • Working knowledge of HACCP principles, ISO 22000 food safety management, and GMP standards applied in a food or spice manufacturing context
  • Practical experience in raw material inspection, finished product testing, non-conformance management, and quality documentation maintenance

Key Skills for Success

  • Strong attention to detail — able to identify quality deviations and documentation gaps consistently and accurately across high-volume production shifts
  • Good documentation skills — capable of maintaining clear, accurate, and organized quality records that support audit readiness and regulatory compliance at all times
  • Analytical and problem-solving ability — able to investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and recommend practical corrective actions that stick
  • Collaborative and professional communication skills — able to work effectively with production teams, supervisors, and the QC Manager to uphold quality standards across the facility
