We are seeking a Shift Electrical Technician in Abu Dhabi to perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical systems and equipment, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant operation. Position Overview
This Shift Electrical Technician role installs, inspects, tests, troubleshoots, and repairs LV and MV electrical equipment, maintains and commissions VFDs and motor control systems, and carries out fault diagnosis on AC and DC motors including pumps and auxiliary equipment. You will perform insulation resistance, continuity, and cable testing, inspect and repair cables and terminations, conduct maintenance on protection relays and circuit breakers, assist with standby generators and UPS systems, and perform switching, isolation, and LOTO activities in accordance with safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities
Electrical Equipment Maintenance
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical systems and equipment
- Install, inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair LV and MV electrical equipment, including switchgear, transformers, MCCs, PCCs, and distribution boards
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and commission VFDs, soft starters, motor starters, and associated control systems
Motor & Pump Maintenance
- Carry out maintenance, testing, and fault diagnosis of AC and DC motors, including high-pressure, feed, transfer, and dosing pumps
Testing & Cable Maintenance
- Perform insulation resistance testing, continuity testing, phase sequence verification, and earth continuity testing
- Inspect, maintain, and repair electrical cables, cable trays, terminations, glands, and junction boxes
Protection Systems & Emergency Power
- Conduct maintenance and functional testing of protection relays, circuit breakers, contactors, and overload relays
- Assist in operation, maintenance, and testing of standby generators, UPS systems, battery chargers, and battery banks
Safety Procedures & Documentation
- Perform switching, isolation, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and electrical permit activities per company procedures
- Read and interpret single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and OEM manuals
- Diagnose electrical faults, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions
- Maintain good housekeeping and comply with all QHSE and Asset Management requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- High School diploma OR technical Diploma
Experience Requirements
- 5 years of relevant electrical maintenance experience
Technical Skills
- Hands-on experience with LV/MV switchgear, transformers, and motor control equipment
- Experience commissioning and troubleshooting VFDs, soft starters, and motor starters
- Proficiency with insulation resistance, continuity, and cable testing instruments
- Ability to read and interpret SLDs, schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs
Essential Skills
- Strong understanding of switching, isolation, and LOTO safety procedures
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and applicable regulations
- Good command of English
