 Position Overview
The Adjuster conducts safety checks at all points before initiating a job at the client site, performs cleaning, lubrication, and testing of the over speed governor, and checks the static balancing of units, adjusting final limits under the guidance of a Senior Adjustor/Adjustor.
Why This Role Matters: As Adjuster, you conduct safety checks at all points before initiating a job at the client site, perform the cleaning, lubrication, and testing of the over speed governor, check the static balancing of units, correcting over balance in counterweights and adjusting final limits, lubricate the Safety Action Mechanism and test it according to defined procedures, perform unit safety checks by traveling the car top through the shaft, checking for interference between moving parts, adjust acceleration, deceleration, and ride quality as per OTIS recommended standards, and prepare new installation inspection reports, field test data reports, and safety check reports for OTIS safety audits.
 Key Responsibilities
Safety Checks & Testing
- Conduct safety checks at all points before initiating job at the client site
- Perform cleaning, lubrication, and testing of the over speed governor
Static Balancing & Safety Mechanisms
- Check static balancing of units, correcting over balance and adjusting final limits
- Lubricate the Safety Action Mechanism and test it according to defined procedures
Installation & Unit Safety Verification
- Perform installation of door skates and set door locks after inspection mode testing
- Perform unit safety checks by traveling the car top through the shaft
Electrical Testing, Escalator Checks & Reporting
- Check all electrical operation of unit, including car door, buttons, and intercom
- Inspect the motor pit and escalator steps for debris and test escalators for obstructions
- Prepare new installation inspection reports, field test data reports, and safety check reports
Qualifications & Requirements
Essential Skills
- Ability to perform safety checks and testing under guidance of a Senior Adjustor/Adjustor
- Ability to escalate concerns at job sites, including filling out NCRs and process infractions
- Ability to set contact parameters in the controller and adjust ride quality per OTIS standards
- Ability to follow defined safety procedures and guidelines at all times
- Strong attention to detail for inspection reports and safety documentation
