Position Overview

The Agricultural / Manufacturing & Process Engineer in Chickasha, OK leads the design, evaluation, fabrication support and performance optimization of industrial cooling tower systems and related thermal equipment. This professional performs thermodynamic and mechanical calculations covering heat rejection, fluid dynamics, evaporation rates and structural loads; reviews shop drawings and BOMs; optimizes fabrication processes for FRP and steel components; authors engineering specifications and 3D/2D CAD models; conducts on-site inspections, performance audits and commissioning support; leads quality assurance and root cause analysis activities; and ensures all designs comply with OSHA, EPA, ASME, ANSI and Cooling Technology Institute (CTI) guidelines — while partnering cross-functionally with sales, civil engineers, estimators and plant operations to deliver custom engineering solutions.

Why This Role Matters: Industrial cooling towers are critical infrastructure across agricultural processing, ethanol production, food manufacturing and power generation — and the engineering precision with which they are designed, fabricated and commissioned directly determines whether these facilities can operate efficiently, safely and within environmental compliance limits. As the Agricultural / Process Engineer in Chickasha, every cooling tower system you design, every FRP component fabrication process you optimize and every on-site commissioning inspection you lead contributes to the operational performance of industrial facilities that serve Oklahoma’s most economically significant production sectors.

 Key Responsibilities

System Design & Thermal / Mechanical Analysis

  • Design and evaluate industrial cooling tower systems — performing comprehensive thermodynamic and mechanical calculations covering heat rejection rates, fluid dynamics, evaporation rates, drift elimination and structural loading across a range of industrial applications.
  • Apply heat transfer, fluid mechanics and structural mechanics principles to optimize cooling tower system performance, energy efficiency and water conservation outcomes for agricultural, ethanol, food processing and power generation clients.
  • Utilize FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) modeling tools to simulate cooling tower structural performance and airflow characteristics — validating designs before fabrication and commissioning.
  • Ensure all cooling tower designs comply with applicable OSHA, EPA, ASME, ANSI and Cooling Technology Institute (CTI) standards and guidelines — with particular attention to drift elimination and water treatment compatibility requirements.

Manufacturing & Fabrication Support

  • Review shop drawings, cut lists and bills of materials (BOMs) for composite and steel cooling tower components — ensuring design intent is correctly interpreted and communicated through the fabrication process.
  • Optimize fabrication processes for FRP, fiberglass-reinforced plastic composites, structural steel and other cooling tower materials — identifying and resolving production bottlenecks that impact quality, schedule or cost.
  • Author engineering specifications, 2D/3D CAD models (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor), structural layout drawings, assembly instructions and technical performance reports — maintaining accurate, up-to-date technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Field Engineering, Commissioning & Quality Assurance

  • Conduct on-site inspections, performance audits, structural assessments and technical troubleshooting at manufacturing plants, active construction sites and client facilities — assisting field teams with system startup and commissioning activities.
  • Lead quality assurance activities including component testing procedure development, manufactured part inspection, failure analysis and CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) implementation — ensuring all cooling tower systems meet specification before delivery and installation.
  • Partner cross-functionally with sales, structural and civil engineers, estimators and plant operations teams — providing custom engineering solutions and technical support for customer RFQs and project-specific engineering challenges.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural/Biosystems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline — mandatory educational requirement.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of progressive engineering experience in manufacturing, heavy industrial equipment, process cooling or industrial construction — demonstrating increasing technical responsibility over time.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to manufacturing plants, active construction jobsites and client facilities — field mobility is an essential requirement of this role.
