Position Overview
The Chemist at Nestlé Madina is a hands-on quality laboratory role responsible for performing all chemical, microbiological, and physical analysis from incoming raw materials through to finished goods — in full compliance with Nestlé’s Quality Management System (QMS) specifications. You will analyse raw water, plastic resin, colorants, and sensitive materials, implement the QMS plan, assist the Quality Head with product release data, train production operators and technicians in basic analytical techniques, manage all laboratory documentation and check-receiving reports, and report quality deviations immediately with corrective actions. Key Responsibilities
Chemical, Microbiological & Physical Analysis
- Perform all necessary chemical, microbiological, and physical analysis of incoming raw materials — including raw water, plastic resin, colorants, and all other materials on Nestlé’s sensitive materials list, in full accordance with QMS specifications
- Conduct analysis of finished goods — ensuring all products are tested and results are validated against QMS specifications before the product release process is initiated
- Apply the full range of laboratory analytical techniques applicable to chemical, micro, and physical testing in an FMCG food and beverage manufacturing environment — maintaining consistency, accuracy, and reproducibility in all analytical work
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment — ensuring all analytical tools are calibrated, functioning correctly, and used according to validated standard operating procedures
QMS Implementation & Product Release Support
- Ensure the QMS (Quality Management System) plan is fully implemented across all laboratory testing activities — adhering to Nestlé’s quality management protocols, analytical procedures, and documentation requirements without exception
- Provide assigned assistance to the Quality Head in compiling and organising all necessary data required for the product release procedure — ensuring analytical results are accurately presented, complete, and submitted on time
- Contribute to the efficiency of the product release process — maintaining clear communication with the Quality Head and production teams to ensure there are no unnecessary delays to compliant product release
- Support the Quality Head in identifying and escalating any analytical results or quality trends that require management attention, corrective action, or process review
Quality Deviation Reporting & Corrective Actions
- Report abnormalities promptly and accurately via the designated quality deviation notification system — ensuring all deviations from QMS specifications are documented immediately when identified and communicated to the appropriate stakeholders
- Take immediate corrective actions upon identifying quality deviations — following established QMS protocols to contain, investigate, and resolve non-conformances before they progress through the production process
- Prepare accurate check-receiving reports for all incoming raw materials — documenting inspection results, analytical findings, and acceptance or rejection decisions in accordance with Nestlé’s QMS receiving procedures
- Maintain all laboratory records, analysis reports, and quality documentation with full accuracy and completeness — ensuring all paperwork is organised, retrievable, and audit-ready at all times
Operator Training & Technical Support
- Perform training of production operators and other technicians in conducting simple analyses and tests relevant to their working areas — supporting the development of quality awareness and basic analytical capability across the production team
- Provide clear, practical, and accessible technical guidance during training sessions — ensuring operators understand both the correct procedure and the reason why accurate testing matters in a Nestlé quality manufacturing environment
- Support the Quality Head in identifying competency gaps among production staff in quality-relevant testing — recommending targeted training interventions that continuously improve the team’s analytical accuracy and quality awareness
Documentation, Reporting & Administration
- Handle all laboratory paperwork with accuracy and discipline — including analytical reports, check-receiving reports, deviation notifications, calibration records, and training documentation
- Prepare check-receiving reports according to the accurate specifications of each raw material category — ensuring every incoming material is fully documented before use in production is authorised
- Use MS Office applications — particularly Excel and Word — for laboratory data recording, report preparation, and quality documentation management
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or a closely related relevant scientific major — required as the foundational qualification for this Chemist position at Nestlé Madina
- Additional qualifications or certifications in food science, analytical chemistry, microbiology, or quality management systems are professionally advantageous for this FMCG quality laboratory role
Technical Skills
