Position Overview

The Civil Inspector (Wet Utilities) at Parsons Abu Dhabi is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and regulatory compliance of utility systems on construction sites. Key systems include water supply, drainage, and sewage infrastructure. You will verify that all works meet approved designs and specifications, monitor materials and workmanship quality, witness system testing and commissioning, coordinate with contractors and project engineers, and ensure all site activities comply fully with safety and environmental regulations.

 Key Responsibilities

Utility Systems Inspection & Compliance

  • Inspect the installation of utility systems, ensuring proper alignment, levels, and gradients across all site works
  • Verify that all works comply with approved designs, specifications, and applicable industry standards
  • Monitor materials and workmanship continuously to ensure top-notch quality is maintained throughout the project
  • Ensure all utility works are carried out safely and in full compliance with UAE and international regulations

Testing, Commissioning & Quality Assurance

  • Witness and verify system testing including pressure testing for pipelines and flow testing for drainage systems
  • Oversee the commissioning of utility systems to confirm they are fully operational and meet project requirements
  • Document all inspection findings, test results, and quality records accurately for project reporting
  • Identify non-conformances and coordinate corrective actions with contractors and project teams

Contractor & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Work closely with contractors, subcontractors, and utility service providers to address site issues promptly
  • Liaise with project engineers and managers to resolve discrepancies and implement approved design changes
  • Communicate effectively with diverse teams across all levels of the project organisation
  • Prepare and submit regular inspection reports to project management and client representatives

Safety & Environmental Monitoring

Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a directly related engineering discipline

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant hands-on experience in utility systems inspection on construction projects
  • Strong practical knowledge of utility systems including water supply, drainage, and sewerage
  • Experience with trenching, excavation, and backfilling processes on live construction sites

Essential Skills
