Position Overview
The Senior Electrical Engineer at KBR will be a key technical leader on the ADNOC PMC offshore project in Abu Dhabi. This role demands deep expertise in electrical systems design, power distribution, HV/MV/LV systems, fault analysis, and project execution across the full engineering lifecycle — from concept through commissioning and handover. The successful candidate will guide junior engineers, interface with clients and contractors, review vendor submissions, and ensure full compliance with IEC, IEEE, NEC, and applicable local UAE regulations throughout the project.

Key Responsibilities
Electrical Systems Design & Engineering
- Lead design, testing, and implementation of electrical systems and components for offshore oil and gas facilities
- Develop electrical schematics, layouts, load calculations, and detailed technical specifications
- Conduct fault analysis, power system studies, and protection scheme coordination
- Apply ETAP, AutoCAD, EPLAN, or SKM software for high-quality, code-compliant electrical design deliverables
Project Execution & Technical Oversight
- Oversee full project lifecycle — from concept design through construction, commissioning, and handover
- Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, calculations, and vendor technical submissions
- Support procurement activities with technical input and vendor evaluation for electrical equipment
- Prepare and maintain technical reports, engineering documentation, and regular project status updates
Compliance & Standards Management
- Ensure full compliance with international electrical engineering standards including IEC, IEEE, and NEC
- Apply UAE local regulations and ADNOC-specific engineering requirements across all project deliverables
- Uphold health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards in all engineering activities and site work
- Maintain rigorous attention to quality control and detail throughout the project lifecycle
Technical Leadership & Mentoring
- Provide senior technical leadership and actively mentor junior and graduate electrical engineers
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical engineering challenges on the offshore development project
- Interface directly with ADNOC clients, consultants, and contractors on technical engineering matters
- Drive risk assessment and mitigation strategies for electrical systems across the project scope
Multidisciplinary Coordination
- Coordinate closely with mechanical, civil, instrumentation, and process engineering disciplines
- Support site supervision, installation, testing, and commissioning activities as project demands
- Manage multiple concurrent project tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced PMC environment
- Contribute to strategic thinking and decision-making within the KBR PMC project leadership team
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university (Master’s degree preferred)
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration or equivalent international engineering qualification is a strong advantage
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 8–12+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience in oil & gas, offshore, or energy sectors
- Proven experience with high voltage (HV), medium voltage (MV), and low voltage (LV) electrical systems
- Strong background in ETAP, AutoCAD, EPLAN, or SKM electrical design and analysis software
- Hands-on experience in site supervision, testing, and commissioning is a distinct advantage
Required Skills
- Advanced technical knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, and protection schemes
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities in complex engineering environments
- Excellent leadership and communication skills for client-facing and multidisciplinary team environments
