Position Overview
As Cloud Backend Engineer, you design, build and continuously improve powerful backend and platform solutions. You further develop a technical environment for processing and running complex compute jobs, build and connect interfaces between software components, and implement smart mechanisms to distribute, prioritise and control compute resources. You create secure access and permission concepts for different user groups, work closely with interdisciplinary teams to integrate software with specialised hardware, and monitor and optimise system stability, availability and resource usage.

Qualifications & Requirements
Experience
- At least three years in backend development or building and running technical platforms
- Very good Python skills, ideally plus Go, Rust or C++
Technical Skills
- Experience developing and integrating APIs, e.g. REST or gRPC
- Familiarity with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect or RBAC
- Practical knowledge of infrastructure as code such as Terraform, and CI/CD
- Understanding of IT security, data protection and handling sensitive data
Personal & Language
- Independent, structured work style and enjoyment of cross-team work
- Fluent English, written and spoken
