Engineering Efficiency Design Assurance Lead Jobs Dubai UAE 2026

Helios Towers — one of Africa and the Middle East’s most extensive and respected independent telecommunications infrastructure companies, building, owning, and operating telecom passive infrastructure across multiple markets — is seeking an experienced Group Engineering Efficiency & Design Assurance Lead in Dubai. This pivotal Group-level role provides independent engineering assurance across power and hybrid system design, validation, and field execution — acting as the critical bridge between design intent and operational delivery while driving Right-First-Time performance, energy efficiency, diesel generator reduction, zero-DG, and net-zero power pathways across the Helios Towers Group.

About Helios Towers — Connecting Africa & the Middle East

Company: Leading independent telecommunications infrastructure company — one of the most extensive tower portfolios across Africa and the Middle East

Mission: Build, own, and operate telecom passive infrastructure — enabling mobile network operators to deliver connectivity faster, reliably, cost-effectively, and with lower carbon footprint

Role Level: Group Engineering — cross-portfolio, multi-market design assurance and engineering efficiency leadership

ESG Ambition: Accelerating pathways toward zero-DG operation and net-zero power solutions across the Group’s tower portfolio

Why This Engineering Assurance Role Stands Out

Group-Level Impact: Independent engineering assurance authority across all power and hybrid system designs deployed across Helios Towers’ entire multi-market portfolio

Net-Zero & Zero-DG Leadership: Drive the Group’s energy transition — reducing diesel generator reliance and accelerating renewable hybrid and zero-DG power solutions

Design-to-Operations Bridge: The critical link between Product Development & Design teams and field operational delivery — ensuring designs work in real-world site conditions

Commercial Engineering Integration: Apply lifecycle cost analysis, ROIC assessment, and business case development to engineering design and efficiency decisions

Position Overview

The Group Engineering Efficiency & Design Assurance Lead at Helios Towers in Dubai reviews and assures power and hybrid system designs for field practicality, safety, maintainability, and operational performance, validates deployed designs against specifications and expected performance outcomes, supports proof-of-concept and pilot deployments for new technologies, develops and supports business cases for site upgrades and technology changes, assesses asset lifecycle performance and failure trends for cost avoidance and life extension, acts as the structured feedback link between design and operations teams for standards and governance improvement, and identifies and validates fuel reduction and energy efficiency opportunities to support zero-DG operation and net-zero power pathways across the Group.

Why This Role Matters: As Group Engineering Efficiency & Design Assurance Lead at Helios Towers in Dubai, you are the engineering conscience of one of Africa and the Middle East’s most important telecom infrastructure companies — ensuring that every power and hybrid system design deployed across hundreds of tower sites actually delivers its intended performance in real-world field conditions, drives measurable fuel and emissions reductions, and builds the technical and commercial case for the Group’s journey toward zero-DG and net-zero tower operations. Your decisions shape how millions of people across Africa and the Middle East stay connected.

Key Responsibilities

Design Assurance & Engineering Validation

  • Review and assure Product Development & Design (PDD) power and hybrid system designs to ensure field practicality, safety, maintainability, and operational performance
  • Validate deployed designs to confirm delivery against specifications and expected performance outcomes in real-world site conditions
  • Support proof-of-concept and pilot deployments to assess new technologies, configurations, and equipment under live conditions
  • Act as the independent engineering authority providing structured feedback into standards updates, design improvements, and engineering governance processes

Energy Efficiency & Zero-DG Pathways

  • Identify and validate fuel reduction and energy efficiency opportunities across the Group’s tower portfolio
  • Support reduced diesel generator run hours, zero-DG operation, and net-zero power pathways across all markets
  • Drive Right-First-Time delivery of power and hybrid system designs — reducing rework, field failures, and operational inefficiency
  • Evaluate renewable energy assets, battery systems, rectifiers, and control systems against performance targets and business case expectations

Commercial Engineering & Lifecycle Cost Analysis

  • Develop and support business cases for site upgrades, technology changes, and design improvements — ensuring clear efficiency gains and improved ROIC
  • Assess asset lifecycle performance and failure trends to identify opportunities for cost avoidance, warranty recovery, life extension, and improved total cost of ownership
  • Apply commercial and financial judgement to engineering decisions — including lifecycle cost analysis and return-on-investment assessment

Stakeholder Engagement & Technical Governance

  • Translate technical standards and designs into clear, field-ready guidance for operational teams and site delivery partners
  • Engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders across Group Engineering, Operations, and multiple operating companies
  • Balance technical engineering excellence with commercial outcomes — communicating complex engineering decisions with clarity and confidence

Requirements & Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Significant experience in power systems engineering within telecoms, energy, or infrastructure environments
  • Proven experience in design assurance, engineering validation, or technical governance roles with accountability for field performance
  • Hands-on experience delivering pilots, trials, or large-scale deployments of power or hybrid energy solutions
  • Strong understanding of telecom site power systems — generators, batteries, rectifiers, control systems, and renewable energy assets
  • Demonstrated ability to apply commercial and financial judgement to engineering decisions — lifecycle cost analysis and ROIC assessment

Desired Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Ability to translate technical standards and designs into clear, field-ready operational guidance
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across technical and non-technical teams
  • Experience working across multiple operating companies or regions
  • Strong communication skills balancing technical excellence with commercial outcomes
