This EPLAN Design / Automation Engineer role at Eaton Dubai sits at the critical intersection of electrical engineering, digital design, and LV distribution board manufacturing. You will create and maintain EPLAN Electric P8 and Pro Panel drawings, develop standardised macros for repeatability, support EEC/ECC rule-based automation development, collaborate with Sales, Manufacturing, and Digital Engineering teams, and actively drive the adoption of Bidmanager and EEC workflows — reducing manual engineering effort and improving Eaton’s LV engineering quality and lead time performance.

Key Responsibilities
EPLAN Engineering & Macro Development
- Create and maintain engineering drawings using EPLAN Electric P8 and Pro Panel across customised PWDB projects
- Develop and maintain standardised macros — electrical schematics and layout designs — to support repeatability and engineering reuse
- Ensure macros are structured, thoroughly documented, and fully compliant with Eaton’s engineering standards
- Apply advanced CAD skills in EPLAN P8 and Pro Panel to deliver accurate, manufacturable electrical designs
EEC / ECC Automation Support
- Act as a key engineering contributor to EEC (Eplan Engineering Configuration) development by providing validated engineering logic, rules, and constraints
- Support the definition and validation of construction kits, options, variants, and dependencies within the EEC configuration environment
- Ensure all engineering data and macros are suitable and structured for rule-based automation outputs
- Collaborate closely with the EEC Developer to test, validate, and continuously improve automated engineering results and correct configuration logic issues
Quotation, Application Engineering & Technical Clarification
- Manage end-to-end engineering, quotation, and technical clarification for customised pre-wired distribution boards (PWDB) using Bidmanager
- Work at the interface of customer requirements, engineering standards, and manufacturing constraints to deliver technically sound and commercially viable solutions
- Apply strong knowledge of IEC 61439 and local/international LV engineering standards to all quotation and design activities
- Support alignment between engineering outputs, manufacturing feasibility, and digital workflow requirements across the full project lifecycle
Digitalization, Cross-Functional Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Actively support the implementation and adoption of Bidmanager, EPLAN, and EEC within Eaton’s engineering workflow in Dubai
- Work closely with Sales, Manufacturing, Product Management, and Digital Engineering teams to ensure feasibility and process consistency
- Collaborate with the cable machine production team to integrate wiring machines with EPLAN smart wiring outputs
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual engineering effort through standardisation, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrotechnics, or equivalent technical education (
Experience Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in planning and engineering of customised pre-wired distribution boards (PWDB) — REQUIRED
- Hands-on experience with EPLAN Electric P8 and Bidmanager —
- Experience with EPLAN Pro Panel and smart wiring is a strong advantage
- Experience working in ETO (Engineer-to-Order) environments and interacting with sales and manufacturing teams
Essential Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of local and international LV engineering standards including IEC 61439
- Advanced CAD skills in EPLAN P8 and Pro Panel for electrical schematic and panel layout design
- Understanding of engineering data structures, macros, and standardised design principles for LV distribution boards
- Basic understanding of digitalised engineering workflows and automation concepts including EEC and rule-based configuration
- Working knowledge of SAP and CRM systems is an advantage
- Fluent English required; German language skills are an advantage
