Position Overview
This Plumbing Engineer role at ARX in Dubai involves reviewing and coordinating plumbing, public health, potable water, hot water, foul drainage, storm drainage, and pumped systems for airport and aviation facilities, industrial buildings, and large infrastructure developments. You will review pipework systems and material selections including GRP, HDPE, PPR, copper, and stainless steel, assess drainage requirements for aircraft hangars and aviation facilities, review hazmat-related drainage requirements, coordinate external potable water networks, support authority submission and approval processes, and coordinate plumbing requirements with architecture, structure, mechanical, electrical, and other multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities
Plumbing & Public Health System Review
- Review and coordinate plumbing, public health, and pumped system deliverables
- Review plumbing systems for aircraft hangars, MRO facilities, and airport terminals
- Review potable water systems, hot water generation, and water storage tanks
- Review booster systems, pressure requirements, and distribution networks
Pipework & Material Selection
- Review GRP, HDPE, PPR, copper, stainless steel, and other pipework systems
- Assess appropriate material selections for airport and aviation applications
- Review above-ground and below-ground drainage systems
- Evaluate foul drainage, soil and waste systems, and stormwater drainage
Aviation & Hazmat Drainage
- Assess drainage requirements for aircraft hangars and aviation facilities
- Review floor drainage, trench drains, and equipment drainage systems
- Review hazmat-related drainage including bunding and interceptors
- Ensure chemical-resistant drainage and spill containment compliance
Authority & Multidisciplinary Coordination
- Coordinate external potable water networks and utility connections
- Support Dubai Municipality, DEWA, and airport stakeholder approval processes
- Coordinate plumbing requirements with architecture, structure, and MEP teams
- Support design workshops, technical meetings, and constructability assessments
Documentation & Quality Compliance
- Review plumbing calculations, design reports, and specifications
- Review drawings, schematics, equipment schedules, and material submittals
- Support testing, commissioning planning, and close-out of interdisciplinary comments
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards and ARX quality procedures
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Public Health Engineering, Plumbing Engineering, or related discipline
Experience Requirements
- 7-12 years of relevant experience
- At least 4 years reviewing plumbing, public health, water supply, and drainage submittals in the Gulf
- Airport or aviation facilities experience is required
- Middle East experience preferred, with UAE authority coordination exposure an advantage
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of potable water, hot water, cold water, and water storage systems
- Experience with aircraft hangar and aviation facility drainage systems
- Good understanding of hazmat drainage, bunding, and spill retention requirements
- Experience with GRP, HDPE, PPR, copper, and stainless steel pipe materials
- Knowledge of IPC, BS EN 12056, DEWA regulations, and Dubai Municipality requirements
- Ability to review hydraulic calculations, specifications, and commissioning documentation
