Position Overview
This Financial Analyst role at WSP Middle East in Dubai / Sharjah is a full-time, on-site financial planning and analysis position working within the Middle East finance team under the direction of the Financial Consolidation Manager. You will provide analytical and consolidation support for WSP Middle East’s monthly management reporting — reviewing and consolidating financial performance data by business unit, by country, and at entity level to give management clear, accurate, and timely performance intelligence. You will analyze major project KPIs and consolidated metrics for monthly and quarterly business packs, support budgeting and quarterly forecasting exercises, assist in implementing data tools and strategies that translate raw financial data into actionable business insights, help identify key performance drivers along with risk and opportunity assessments, and provide balance sheet review support for internal control, governance, and audit purposes. The role requires a CFA, CPA, or CA qualification with a minimum of 3 to 4 years of Financial Planning and Analysis experience — preferably gained in professional services, consulting, or engineering — alongside strong Oracle and Hyperion system knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and exceptional analytical and organizational capability.

Key Responsibilities
Monthly Management Reporting & Business Performance Review
- Provide comprehensive analytical and consolidation support for WSP Middle East’s monthly management reporting — reviewing and consolidating financial performance data by business unit, by country, and at entity level
- Help the business identify key drivers of financial performance — distinguishing structural trends from one-time variances and providing management with clear, actionable interpretation of monthly results
- Prepare and contribute to monthly and quarterly business performance packs — consolidating KPI metrics, management report data, and financial commentary for senior leadership review
- Implement and support tools and strategies that translate raw financial data into valuable, decision-enabling business insights — improving the quality and accessibility of management information across the Middle East business
Budgeting, Forecasting & Variance Analysis
- Support the annual budgeting process and quarterly rolling forecast exercises — coordinating data collection from business units, consolidating submissions, and preparing consolidated financial plans for management review
- Perform variance analysis between actual results, budget, and forecast — clearly explaining the financial, operational, and market drivers behind deviations and proposing corrective actions where relevant
- Provide risk and opportunity assessments alongside budget and forecast consolidations — giving management a balanced forward-looking view of financial performance across the Middle East business
- Analyze major project financial performance metrics — providing the project-level financial intelligence that supports commercial decision-making and project profitability management
Balance Sheet Review, Governance & Audit Support
- Provide support for balance sheet reviews across the Middle East entity — contributing to internal control governance, identifying balance sheet risks, and ensuring financial data integrity across reporting periods
- Support internal audit processes and external audit preparation — providing financial data, analysis, reconciliations, and documentation as required by the Central Finance and audit teams
- Assist the Financial Consolidation Manager and Central Finance team with critical decision-making support — providing the analytical groundwork that enables senior finance leaders to make well-informed business and commercial decisions
- Maintain exceptional organizational discipline across all financial reporting deliverables — meeting deadlines consistently, maintaining data accuracy, and ensuring all management reporting is produced to the professional standard that WSP’s global finance function expects
Qualifications & Requirements
Professional Certification
- CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or CA (Chartered Accountant) designation — one of these three professional qualifications is a mandatory requirement for this role
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3 to 4 years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) — preferably gained in a professional services, consulting, or engineering industry environment
- Solid applied understanding of general financial analysis concepts — including management reporting, budget and forecast processes, variance analysis, and balance sheet interpretation
Technical Skills
- Strong technical proficiency in Oracle ERP for financial data extraction, reporting, and analysis — Oracle experience is specifically required for this role
- Good working knowledge of Hyperion or comparable financial consolidation and reporting tools — used for multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation and management reporting across WSP Middle East
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for financial modeling, data analysis, consolidation, and variance reporting — essential for day-to-day financial analysis activities
- Strong analytical, detail-oriented, and systems skills — with exceptional organizational capability and the ability to prioritize effectively across multiple simultaneous deliverables and deadlines
Communication Skills
