Primary Objective of the Position
The Food Packaging Manager at Meals on Me Dubai is responsible for the full end-to-end oversight of daily meal packing operations, ensuring every order is packed with accuracy, quality, and hygiene and dispatched on time. This role strategically blends packaging design, logistics, quality control, cost management, and sustainability to ensure Meals on Me consistently delivers a product that reflects its reputation as the UAE’s most trusted healthy meal brand. The Packaging Manager also leads, trains, and develops the packaging team to maintain peak operational performance.

Key Responsibilities
Packaging Design & Development
- Develop innovative packaging solutions that preserve food quality, temperature, freshness, and presentation standards
- Collaborate with suppliers to create cost-effective, functional, and brand-aligned packaging materials
- Ensure all packaging consistently reflects and reinforces Meals on Me’s brand identity and premium healthy food positioning
Quality Control & Standards Enforcement
- Monitor packaging performance throughout storage and delivery to maintain product integrity at every touchpoint
- Promptly identify and resolve packaging issues including leakage, damage, or contamination risks
- Establish, document, and maintain clear packaging quality standards aligned with regulatory and company requirements
- Conduct regular quality checks to ensure all packaging meets Meals on Me and UAE food safety standards
Supply Chain & Inventory Management
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with packaging vendors to secure reliable, high-quality, and cost-effective materials
- Track inventory levels accurately and forecast packaging needs to prevent shortages or over-stocking
- Ensure timely availability of all packaging materials so daily meal packing operations run without disruption
- Oversee packaging materials inventory and implement wastage minimisation strategies
Team Leadership & Staff Management
- Lead, train, supervise, and motivate the packaging team to achieve daily production targets consistently
- Prepare shift schedules and ensure adequate manpower is in place during peak operational hours
- Monitor staff performance, provide constructive feedback, and support continuous improvement
- Enforce discipline, safety standards, hygiene protocols, and company policies across the packaging department
Cost Optimisation & Sustainability
- Analyse packaging costs, identify savings opportunities, and implement strategies that balance cost with quality and customer experience
- Introduce and champion eco-friendly packaging solutions to reduce environmental impact across operations
- Drive initiatives to reduce packaging waste and improve recyclability across the production and delivery cycle
- Ensure full compliance with environmental regulations and waste management policies related to packaging
Operations Coordination & Process Improvement
- Work closely with kitchen, logistics, and delivery teams to ensure seamless coordination across all operational functions
- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement best practices in packaging operations and workflows
- Train staff on proper packaging methods, hygiene standards, and safe equipment use
- Oversee the maintenance and proper operation of all packaging machinery and equipment
Health, Safety & Food Safety Compliance
- Adhere strictly to all health, sanitation, and food safety laws, rules, and regulations applicable in the UAE
- Ensure all potential and real hazards are reported immediately and reduced or eliminated without delay
- Maintain and enforce the highest standards of personal hygiene, appearance, and conduct across the packaging team
- Ensure emergency procedures are practised, understood, and enforced to protect the safety of all employees

Qualifications & Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a Food Packaging Manager, Packaging Supervisor, or similar operations leadership role
- Strong knowledge of food packaging design, quality control, supply chain management, and inventory forecasting
- Hands-on experience managing packaging teams and achieving daily production and dispatch targets
- Solid understanding of UAE food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and health and safety compliance
- Experience with eco-friendly packaging initiatives and sustainability compliance in a food operations environment
- Excellent communication, team leadership, problem-solving, and process improvement skills
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, or overtime when required to support operational needs
