Position Overview

The Food Safety and Hygiene Manager owns the food safety and hygiene framework across central kitchens, camps, and catering sites in Qatar. You will develop, implement, and monitor the systems that keep food safe, and make sure every site stays compliant with HACCP, ISO 22000, municipality rules, and the specific requirements of each client. Day to day, that means running audits, inspections, and risk assessments, watching food quality, sanitation standards, pest control, temperature records, and personal hygiene practices, and leading training so food handlers and kitchen staff know what is expected. When something goes wrong, you investigate incidents, customer complaints, and non-conformities and drive corrective actions through to closure. You also deal with the regulators, support external audits, and report to management through food safety reports, KPI dashboards, and compliance documentation. It is a senior role for someone who can combine technical certification with practical leadership across several sites at once.

Why This Role Matters: Catering for camps and large kitchens works at a scale where one lapse in temperature control, hygiene, or pest management can affect many people at once. The Food Safety and Hygiene Manager is the person who makes sure that does not happen. A well-run system means audits are passed without drama, clients keep their confidence, and the people eating every day are protected. It also means problems are found early, through trend data and inspections, rather than after an incident. In Qatar’s busy catering sector in 2026, a manager who is certified, hands-on, and trusted by both operations and regulators is hard to replace, and this role is built around exactly that kind of person.

 Key Responsibilities

Food Safety Systems & Compliance

  • Develop, implement, and monitor food safety and hygiene systems across central kitchens, camps, and catering operations
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, ISO 22000, local municipality regulations, and client food safety requirements at every site
  • Keep systems, procedures, and records current so each location is ready for inspection at any time
  • Apply knowledge of GCC food safety regulations to the specific demands of catering and large-scale production

Audits, Inspections & Risk Assessment

  • Conduct food safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across kitchens, camps, and catering units
  • Monitor food quality, sanitation standards, pest control, temperature records, and personal hygiene practices
  • Spot recurring weaknesses through trend review and fix the root cause instead of repeating the same warning
  • Prepare each site for municipality visits, client audits, and external certification audits

Training & Awareness

  • Lead hygiene training and awareness programs for food handlers and kitchen staff across all operations
  • Make training practical and easy to follow for teams with different languages and backgrounds
  • Build everyday habits around handwashing, temperature checks, cleaning schedules, and safe food handling

Incidents, Complaints & Corrective Action

  • Investigate food safety incidents, customer complaints, and non-conformities with clear, documented findings
  • Implement corrective actions and follow them through to verified closure
  • Use what each investigation teaches to strengthen procedures before the issue can come back

Regulators, Reporting & Documentation

  • Liaise with regulatory authorities and support external audits professionally and on schedule
  • Prepare food safety reports, KPI dashboards, and compliance documentation for management and clients
  • Keep audit-ready records that show clearly what was checked, what was found, and what was done about it

Qualifications & Requirements

Certifications

HACCP Certification

Mandatory — applications without it will not meet the core requirement

ISO 22000 Auditor

Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification is preferred
