Position Overview
The Food Safety & Quality Assurance Inspector at Savola Group in Abu Dhabi is a full-time, on-site quality control and food safety role responsible for maintaining the highest standards of product quality and regulatory compliance across all stages of the food manufacturing process. This professional conducts systematic quality checks at sorting, roasting, grinding and packing stages, monitors critical control points and process parameters, inspects incoming raw materials and supplier documentation, maintains complete and accurate quality records on a daily basis, manages nonconformances through to resolution and ensures continuous adherence to food safety requirements — including cross-contamination prevention protocols and GMP standards — across the entire production facility.
Why This Role Matters: At Savola Group, the Food Safety & Quality Assurance Inspector is the operational guardian of product integrity and consumer safety. Every quality check you conduct at sorting, every critical control point you monitor at roasting, every parameter deviation you identify at grinding and every nonconformance you manage at packing is a direct protection of the consumer trust that Savola Group has built across the Middle East over decades. Your diligence, precision and food safety discipline are not administrative functions — they are the frontline defence between a world-class FMCG product and a quality failure that could harm consumers or damage an iconic regional food brand.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Inspections Across Production Stages
- Conduct systematic quality checks across all critical production stages — sorting, roasting, grinding and packing — ensuring every stage meets Savola Group’s product specifications, quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor critical control points (CCPs) throughout the production process — verifying that process parameters remain within defined limits and that food safety controls are consistently applied and effective.
- Verify process parameters at each production stage — recording actual values against specifications, identifying deviations promptly and escalating any critical parameter failures to the QA management team.
- Inspect incoming raw materials for compliance with quality and food safety specifications — checking physical, sensory and documentation requirements before approving materials for production use.
Supplier Documentation & Records Management
- Review and verify supplier documentation for all incoming raw materials — including certificates of analysis, halal certificates, origin declarations and other compliance documents required by Savola Group’s supplier approval program.
- Maintain complete, accurate and up-to-date quality records on a daily basis — ensuring all inspection results, parameter readings, nonconformances and corrective actions are documented in compliance with QMS requirements.
- Coordinate with warehouse and procurement teams to ensure raw material receipt, storage and release activities are aligned with quality and food safety requirements — preventing non-compliant materials from entering production.
Nonconformance Management & Food Safety Compliance
- Identify, document and manage nonconformances across all production stages — raising formal nonconformance reports, coordinating investigations and tracking corrective and preventive actions through to effective closure.
- Ensure continuous food safety compliance across the production facility — including rigorous cross-contamination prevention protocols, allergen management procedures and hygiene monitoring activities.
- Enforce GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) adherence across all production areas — conducting regular GMP observations, providing on-the-spot guidance to production staff and reporting systemic GMP gaps to quality management.
- Support internal and external quality and food safety audits — ensuring all production areas, quality records and inspection documentation are always audit-ready and fully compliant with applicable food safety standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Food Science, Food Technology, Quality Management, Nutrition or a closely related scientific or technical field — preferred educational background for this food safety inspector role.
- Relevant food safety certifications such as HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000 or equivalent — strongly valued for demonstrating structured food safety management knowledge.
Experience Requirements
- Proven experience in food manufacturing quality assurance, food safety inspection or quality control in an FMCG, food production or food processing environment — mandatory for performing effectively in this role from day one.
- Hands-on experience with GMP enforcement, HACCP monitoring, nonconformance management and food safety compliance in a regulated food manufacturing facility.
- Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams including warehouse, procurement and production — demonstrating the ability to work across departments to resolve quality and food safety issues efficiently.
