Position Overview

This Head of Quality Control role at Pearl Polyurethane Systems in the UAE involves owning and maintaining the Pearl Group QA/QC Policy, PPS-QC test methods, and controlled-document framework, while maintaining ISO 9001 certification across all sites. You will lead organizational readiness for audits, develop the Site QC Competency Matrix, monitor group-wide quality KPIs including customer complaints and OOS frequencies, apply SPC and trend analysis, lead Management of Change quality reviews, own customer complaint investigations and CAPA implementation, and plan and lead the annual internal audit program.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management System & Governance

  • Own and maintain the Pearl Group QA/QC Policy and test methods
  • Maintain ISO 9001 certification and ensure continual compliance across all sites
  • Lead organizational readiness for customer, certification, and third-party audits
  • Ensure consistency of quality standards and test methodologies across locations
  • Review and reconcile site-level quality deviations

Site QC Capability & Competency Development

  • Develop and maintain the Site QC Competency Matrix
  • Define certification requirements for technicians across products and test methods
  • Lead certification and re-certification programs for QC personnel
  • Standardize QC onboarding, training, and competency assessments across sites

Quality Data, Trends & Escalation Management

  • Monitor group-wide quality KPIs including complaints, COA failures, and OOS frequencies
  • Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) and trend analysis to identify risks
  • Govern escalation protocols between site-level and HQ-level issues
  • Drive resolution of recurring quality concerns and systemic risks

Voice of Customer & Management of Change

  • Translate customer specifications and regulatory expectations into internal procedures
  • Lead quality reviews within Management of Change for formulation changes and new products
  • Own customer complaint investigations, root-cause analysis, and CAPA implementation
  • Ensure closure of complaints and corrective actions within agreed timelines

Audits & Compliance

  • Plan and lead the annual internal audit program, including cross-site audits
  • Act as the company’s quality representative during customer and certification audits
  • Maintain the audit findings register and ensure timely corrective actions
  • Promote a culture of compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement

Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or related discipline
  • Master’s Degree preferred

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance within chemical, polyurethane, or related process industry
  • Demonstrated success leading quality programs in manufacturing environments
  • Hands-on laboratory experience with polyurethane systems, foams, elastomers, and related materials

Technical Skills

  • Proven expertise in quality management systems, statistical analysis, and CAPA management
  • Practical experience implementing and maintaining ISO 9001 or equivalent QMS
  • Strong knowledge of SPC, control charts, and process capability analysis
  • Experience managing internal, customer, third-party, and certification audits
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is an advantage

Essential Skills

  • Experience leading quality teams and developing competencies across multiple sites
  • Proven ability to influence change and drive compliance without direct reporting authority
  • Fluent professional English with ability to independently lead audits and customer interactions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Multi-site manufacturing quality management experience
  • Experience within polyurethane, specialty chemicals, coatings, adhesives, elastomers, or foams
  • Knowledge of REACH, GHS, Product Stewardship, and chemical compliance requirements
  • Experience working with international customers, suppliers, and certification bodies
  • Additional language proficiency (Arabic, French, Mandarin, Japanese, German, Spanish, etc.) is a strong advantage
