Position Overview
This Hook Up Engineer role reads, understands, and implements the Company’s HSEQ policy; participates in pre-engineering and pre-construction surveys; reviews drawings for constructability; develops and issues final hook-up construction work packs; monitors scope changes; ensures all engineering deliverables are available for hook-up execution; prepares and reviews hook-up task sheets; ensures efficient sequencing of HU activities; coordinates materials with load-out plans at yards and offshore locations; and provides field guidance across onshore and offshore project sites.

Key Responsibilities
Hook-Up Engineering & Work Pack Development
- Develop and issue final hook-up construction work packs for project execution
- Review drawings for constructability and identify specific issues, coordinating their resolution
- Review and formulate discipline scope of work, schedules, and specifications
- Prepare hook-up task sheets and review them as appropriate throughout the project
- Ensure all engineering deliverables — drawings, materials, and procedures — are available for hook-up execution
Field Execution, Coordination & Progress Management
- Participate in and provide field guidance for pre-engineering and pre-construction surveys
- Ensure efficient sequencing of HU activities and synchronise with other disciplines and hook-up schedules
- Coordinate materials with load-out plans at yards and ship to offshore locations in optimum vessel sorties
- Travel to different regional facilities — onshore and offshore — to assist project teams aligned to schedule
- Monitor scope changes and input to DTCMS/CAT; monitor implementation-related changes and growth during the project
HSEQ, Reporting & Stakeholder Communication
- Participate in HAZID discussions and asset incident/hazard investigations and communicate findings to PMT
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports, checklists, and documentation across the hook-up process
- Provide regular progress updates to project stakeholders, highlighting milestones, challenges, or deviations
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry codes, standards, regulations, and contractual requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
Essential Qualifications
Certified in relevant safety and environmental regulations (OSHA, HSE) — preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering — Electrical, Mechanical, or a relevant field
6 years of experience in offshore hook-up activities within the EPCI industry
Proficient knowledge of relevant industry standards: API, ASME, IEC, NEC
Strong technical and analytical skills with ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
Exhibit leadership skills within own discipline and assist trainee engineers and freshers
HSEQ, Reporting & Stakeholder Communication
- Participate in HAZID discussions and asset incident/hazard investigations and communicate findings to PMT
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports, checklists, and documentation across the hook-up process
