Position Overview

This Hygiene Officer role involves supervising and coordinating operations to ensure compliance with hygiene and food safety standards, advising on proper food handling practices, and providing food hygiene training for new hires and trainees. You will identify key areas of risk in food operations and take preemptive remedial action, provide technical advice on product labeling for government requirements, and assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, and coaching employees.

Key Responsibilities

Hygiene & Food Safety Compliance

  • Supervise and coordinate operations to ensure compliance with hygiene and food safety standards
  • Advise on proper food handling practices
  • Provide food hygiene training for all new hires and trainees

Risk Management & Technical Advisory

  • Identify key areas of risk in various food operations and take preemptive remedial action
  • Provide technical advice on product labeling issues to fulfill government requirements

Team Support & Standards

  • Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, and coaching employees
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards

Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Environmental Health or Culinary

Experience Requirements

  • 2 to 4 years of related work experience
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time
  • Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, and stooping
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance
