Key Responsibilities

- Create and develop new fragrance formulations from concept through to full commercialization across household, personal care, automotive and commercial fragrance categories.
- Review, optimize and improve existing formulations for performance, longevity, cost efficiency and market relevance — maintaining rigorous version control and specification documentation.
- Analyze market fragrance trends and identify opportunities for portfolio expansion — including regional consumer preference analysis and competitive benchmarking.
- Evaluate raw materials and aroma chemicals for quality, consistency and suitability — conducting fragrance matching projects using sensory evaluation and analytical techniques.
Innovation & Fragrance Technology Development
- Research and develop innovative fragrance technologies including encapsulation, ActiMoods systems, malodor counteraction technologies, PET fragrances and allergen-free formulations.
- Assess emerging fragrance delivery technologies and recommend implementation opportunities across the product portfolio.
- Collaborate with global suppliers and technical partners to introduce proven innovations into active product development programs.
- Verify fragrance compatibility with existing and new dispensing devices — resolving formulation and equipment compatibility issues before commercialization.
Laboratory & Inventory Management
- Oversee daily laboratory operations — ensuring compliance with quality, safety and regulatory standards across all lab activities.
- Conduct weekly visits to factories and warehouses to verify stock levels, storage conditions and inventory accuracy across all raw materials and finished products.
- Evaluate returned products and identify root causes of quality or performance issues — implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Prepare and distribute monthly reports on non-moving aroma oils and excess raw material stock — recommending corrective measures to minimize waste and working capital exposure.
Supplier, Client & Project Management
- Source, evaluate and negotiate with global fragrance and raw material suppliers — building strategic, long-term relationships with high-quality supply partners.
- Manage customer briefs and convert project requirements into structured development plans — acting as the primary technical contact throughout all project lifecycles.
- Lead projects from concept through formulation, production, launch and post-launch review — coordinating with Procurement, Operations, Manufacturing and Commercial teams.
- Develop contingency sourcing strategies to mitigate supply disruptions and cost fluctuations across key raw materials and aroma chemicals.
Product Launches, Complaints & Training
- Lead new product launches across aerosols, car diffusers, aroma oils, reed diffusers and the Green Signal product range — delivering a minimum of two new Aroma Oil launches every two months.
- Investigate customer complaints related to fragrance quality, performance or application — conducting site visits, determining root causes and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop and deliver technical training programs for sales teams, new employees, agents and distributors — creating product knowledge materials and technical documentation.
- Lead bespoke fragrance development projects for strategic customers and support private-label and region-specific product programs.
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Perfumery, Chemical Sciences or a closely related field — preferred but equivalent practical perfumery experience will also be considered.
- Strong understanding of aroma chemicals, essential oils, fragrance formulation techniques and fragrance delivery technologies.
