Key Responsibilities
Material Selection, MSD/MSR & Piping Specifications
- Prepare and review Material Selection Diagrams (MSD), Material Selection Reports (MSR), and Piping Material Specifications — ensuring material choices are fit-for-purpose for ADNOC Offshore operating environments
- Develop Corrosion Management Plans (CMP) and Integrity Operating Windows (IOW) — establishing the corrosion control framework that governs asset integrity throughout the project lifecycle
- Conduct corrosion modelling using ECE software or equivalent tools — translating corrosion rate predictions and degradation mechanisms into informed material selection and protection decisions
- Ensure full compliance with ASME, API 579, API 571, BS 7910, DNV, and ADNOC standards across all materials and corrosion engineering deliverables and design decisions
EPC Contractor Oversight, TBE & RBI
- Review and approve EPC contractor deliverables, Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE), and Non-Material Requirements (NMR) — ensuring quality compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices
- Perform regular and timely technical reviews of contractors — providing clear, actionable technical comments and ensuring all deficiencies are closed before design advances
- Conduct Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) assessments and risk assessment workshops including HAZOP and HAZID — providing materials and corrosion technical input to project-level risk management
- Troubleshoot site-specific corrosion issues — applying field experience and engineering judgment to resolve corrosion problems that emerge during construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases
Cathodic Protection, Coatings & Integrity Management
- Provide expertise in coatings, painting, insulation systems, and cathodic protection — reviewing specifications, contractor proposals, and QA/QC activities for all corrosion protection systems
- Oversee corrosion control and integrity management activities — ensuring material selection and corrosion protection decisions align with ADNOC’s asset integrity framework and operational requirements
- Participate in layout reviews, model reviews, design reviews, and technical workshops — representing the materials and corrosion discipline across multidisciplinary project interfaces
- Ensure full utilization of existing facilities while optimizing the facilities required for new project scope — minimising unnecessary capital expenditure through sound materials and corrosion engineering judgment
Commissioning Support, Coordination & Reporting
- Provide technical assistance during installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning — supporting the transition from construction to operational readiness for ADNOC Offshore
- Coordinate technical reviews and bid evaluation, performance evaluation, and interface management with Contractor’s project management teams and discipline engineers
- Report to the ADNOC Discipline Team Leader and Engineering Manager — providing regular, accurate materials and corrosion discipline status, technical risk, and issue resolution updates
- Interface with Managers, Team Leaders, and Engineers across Company Technical Departments, Business Units, Operations Units, and Logistics to support integrated project delivery

Educational Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 15+ years of experience, predominantly in the oil and gas upstream offshore industry (REQUIRED)
- Experience working for major oil and gas engineering contractors — Kent, KBR, Worley, Petrofac, Saipem, or comparable organisations strongly preferred
- PMC experience is highly preferable — demonstrating the ability to lead technical discipline delivery in a Project Management Consultant capacity
- Large-project experience is a must — with Middle East/GCC experience on projects involving clients such as Saudi Aramco, QatarEnergy, PDO, or ADNOC
