Position Overview
Airalo operates in 200+ markets as a global eSIM marketplace, which means the Legal team sits close to nearly every part of the business — from commercial deals with telecom carriers and distribution partners, to the regulatory frameworks that govern how Airalo serves millions of travelers worldwide. The Legal Counsel will provide broad-based commercial and regulatory support, working closely with Commercial, Product, and Marketing teams on deal execution, contract risk, and compliance matters, including data privacy.

Key Responsibilities
Commercial Contracts & Deal Execution
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including partnership, vendor, distribution, and telecom-related contracts
- Support deal execution across Airalo’s global eSIM marketplace operations spanning 200+ countries
Business Advisory & Risk Management
- Provide day-to-day legal advice to Commercial, Product, and Marketing teams on contractual risk and deal structuring
- Escalate novel or high-risk issues appropriately
Data Privacy & Regulatory Compliance
- Support data privacy and protection compliance efforts, including GDPR and regional data protection frameworks
- Monitor and interpret telecommunications and consumer protection regulations across key operating markets
Legal Operations & Governance
- Maintain and improve contract templates, playbooks, and internal legal documentation
- Support corporate governance matters, including entity management and coordination with external counsel
- Collaborate cross-functionally with People, Finance, and Security teams on legal matters
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational & Certification Requirements
- Qualified solicitor (England & Wales) or equivalent qualification with 2+ years PQE or equivalent
Experience Requirements
- Solid grounding in general commercial practice, ideally gained at a fast-growing company
- Proven general commercial practice experience within a fast-growing company
Essential Skills
- Comfort advising colleagues directly, in plain language, at the design stage rather than after the fact
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage a high volume of contracts and competing priorities
Nice to Have
- In-house experience at a technology or digital product company operating across multiple jurisdictions
- Exposure to telecommunications, consumer protection, or other sector-specific regulatory frameworks
- Experience building or improving legal operations tooling, including templates, playbooks, or contract automation (e.g. Juro)
