Position Overview
This Lighting Engineer at Oasis Enterprises designs and develops lighting plans according to project specifications and creative direction, prepares BOQs, technical submittals, and pricing documentation, creates lighting plots and follow diagrams, installs and programs lighting control systems, conducts photometric calculations and simulations, selects appropriate lighting fixtures and control systems, performs site surveys and client meetings, reviews tender documents and prepares technical proposals, troubleshoots and optimises existing lighting systems for energy efficiency, and maintains strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and end-users across the UAE.

Key Responsibilities
Lighting Design, BOQ & Tender Development
- Design and develop lighting plans according to project specifications and creative direction — including BOQs, technical submittals, and pricing documentation
- Review tender documents, extract requirements, and translate them into clear technical and commercial proposals
- Perform photometric calculations and simulations using lighting design software to validate designs against illumination and energy targets
- Select appropriate lighting fixtures and control systems suited to aesthetic, functional, and energy compliance requirements
System Installation, Programming & Commissioning
- Install, program, and operate lighting control systems — setting up fixtures, rigs, consoles, and associated hardware
- Conduct tests and troubleshoot lighting equipment to ensure safety, functionality, and compliance with local codes and energy regulations
- Coordinate with other technical staff to integrate lighting with sound, visual, and AV systems
- Prepare manpower histograms and assess site staffing requirements including technician levels, man-hours, and project duration estimates
Site, Client & Documentation Management
- Conduct on-site assessments to verify project requirements and provide technical adjustments based on site conditions
- Meet clients and consultants in coordination with the Sales team to develop and translate design and tender documentation
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation throughout design, installation, and handover phases
- Optimise existing lighting systems for improved performance and energy efficiency
- Deliver product demonstrations and provide technical input for trade shows, client presentations, and industry events
Software, Technology & Continuous Development
- Create lighting plots and follow diagrams using lighting software with hands-on proficiency
- Apply 3D and rendering software — Revit, Depence, Resolume, Vectorworks — for design presentations, tender submissions, and project coordination
- Stay current with emerging lighting technologies, control systems, data protocols, power distribution, and industry trends
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of entertainment and architectural lighting equipment across the full system stack
Qualifications & Requirements
- Relevant engineering or technical qualification in electrical, lighting, or building services engineering
- Hands-on experience with lighting design software for photometric calculations and simulations
- Experience with lighting control systems — programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of illumination standards, energy codes, and safety regulations applicable in the UAE
- Strong analytical, technical writing, and client communication skills
- Experience with Revit, Depence, Resolume, or Vectorworks — a significant advantage
- Ability to conduct site surveys, manage project documentation, and coordinate with architects, contractors, and consultants
