Position Overview

This Irrigation Engineer role at KEO in Dubai is a senior, specialist position requiring 10 years of professional experience — including at least 3 years on hard and soft landscaping projects during the UAE construction phase. You will design complete irrigation systems from Point of Connection (POC) through to tertiary outlets, deliver MEP design for all hydrological aspects of irrigation systems, produce hydraulic designs for stormwater networks, coordinate NOC approvals from relevant authorities, review and analyse irrigation designs by others, and ensure full alignment with sustainability certifications including LEED, Estidama, and GSAS across all project stages.

Key Responsibilities

Irrigation System Design — POC to Tertiary Outlets

  • Design complete irrigation systems from Point of Connection (POC) through to tertiary outlets
  • Apply working knowledge of sprinkler systems, drip irrigation, and water-efficient irrigation solutions
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of irrigation system design, installation, and operational requirements
  • Review and analyse both existing irrigation networks and proposed irrigation system designs prepared by others

MEP & Hydraulic Engineering for Irrigation

  • Deliver MEP design for all hydrological aspects of an irrigation system including pump, filter, and pressure vessel sizing
  • Design mainline, secondary, and tertiary pipe networks and irrigation controller systems
  • Perform basic power demand calculations to support irrigation system MEP design
  • Carry out hydraulic design of stormwater networks relating to hard and soft landscape areas in coordination with primary infrastructure designers

Sustainability Certifications & Water Conservation

  • Apply understanding of LEED, Estidama, GSAS, and other GCC sustainability certifications to irrigation system design
  • Ensure appropriate use of irrigation systems in alignment with sustainability certification requirements
  • Apply familiarity with irrigation codes, water conservation principles, and sustainable irrigation practices throughout all project stages
  • Support planting design coordination to ensure irrigation systems are appropriately sized and specified for planted areas

Construction Inspection & Installation Oversight

  • Inspect, verify, and ensure proper installation and functionality of irrigation systems in the field
  • Ensure correct integration of irrigation systems with landscape features across construction phases
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge and experience in the execution of civil, infrastructure, and landscape works
  • Make informed project decisions and liaise with applicable authorities throughout the project lifecycle

NOC Approvals & Authority Coordination

  • Lead coordination and gain NOC approval from relevant authorities relating to irrigation systems at all project stages
  • Manage authority liaison processes efficiently to keep project programmes on track
  • Support multidisciplinary teams with irrigation-specific technical input and authority coordination expertise
  • Ensure all irrigation designs and documentation meet applicable UAE regulatory and authority requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering — civil, mechanical, environmental, or a related discipline (REQUIRED)
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications or sustainability certifications (LEED AP, Estidama Practitioner) are a strong advantage

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in irrigation engineering or a related field (REQUIRED)
  • At least 3 years of experience working on hard and soft landscaping projects during the UAE construction phase (REQUIRED)
  • Demonstrated experience on large-scale landscape-related projects in the UAE is specifically being sought

Essential Technical Skills
