Position Overview
This Maintenance Mechanical Engineer role at Eaton Dubai involves developing preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance strategies for critical automated manufacturing equipment. You will analyze downtime, MTBF and MTTR, lead structured root cause analysis for mechanical failures, and collaborate with production, toolmaking and engineering teams to improve machine stability, cycle time consistency and overall equipment reliability.

Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Strategy & Reliability
- Develop and implement preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance strategies for mechanical systems
- Analyze downtime, MTBF and MTTR to drive equipment reliability improvement
- Identify mechanical failure modes and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Define data-driven maintenance plans including inspection, lubrication and overhaul intervals
Root Cause Analysis & Troubleshooting
- Lead structured root cause analysis (RCA, A3, 5 Why) for mechanical failures
- Address issues across cam-controlled systems, injection molding equipment and automated lines
- Ensure sustainable elimination of recurring mechanical issues
- Provide technical support guiding maintenance technicians in complex troubleshooting
Equipment Ownership & Process Improvement
- Own mechanical performance of cam-controlled forming and assembly machines
- Maintain plastic injection molding machines, clamping units and cooling systems
- Collaborate with production and toolmaking teams to improve cycle time consistency
- Deploy predictive maintenance approaches using equipment condition data and wear trends
Commissioning & Standardization
- Support equipment commissioning and industrialization for serial production readiness
- Standardize maintenance processes and technical documentation across equipment
- Collaborate with toolmakers, engineers and OEM partners on technical upgrades
- Drive continuous improvement to reduce breakdowns and extend equipment lifetime
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics or similar field
Experience Requirement
- Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial automation (Minimum requirement)
- Knowledge of cam-controlled machines such as Bihler (preferred), Wafios or Finzer
- Experience supporting equipment commissioning and serial production readiness
Essential Skills
- Experienced in CAD, SPS and HMI systems; programming skills are an advantage
- Strong root cause analysis skills using RCA, A3 and 5 Why methodologies
- Quick comprehension, continuous learning mindset and willingness to work shifts
- Ability to guide maintenance technicians without taking over execution activities
