Position Overview
This Operations Excellence Specialist role owns the labour planning strategy across all UAE warehouse operations, developing AI-driven planning tools to optimize workforce allocation, scheduling, and productivity. You will design manpower models for complex operations with 30+ roles, analyse performance to identify bottlenecks and productivity improvements, build forecasting models based on demand and seasonality, develop dashboards and real-time decision-support tools, lead Lean improvement initiatives, and partner with Operations, Finance, HR, and Engineering teams on long-term workforce strategies.

Key Responsibilities
Labour Planning & AI Model Development
- Own the labour planning strategy across all UAE warehouse operations for optimal manpower deployment
- Develop and enhance AI-driven labour planning tools to optimize workforce allocation, scheduling, and productivity
- Design manpower planning models for complex warehouse operations with 30+ roles and cross-training requirements
- Create forecasting models based on business demand, seasonality, order profiles, and operational trends
Analytics, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Analyse operational performance to identify bottlenecks, capacity constraints, labour waste, and improvement opportunities
- Develop dashboards, reporting tools, and real-time decision-support models for labour utilisation and productivity
- Establish labour standards and productivity benchmarks aligned with operational targets
- Lead Lean continuous improvement initiatives focused on labour optimization, process efficiency, and cost reduction
Stakeholder Engagement & Strategic Leadership
- Partner with Operations, Finance, HR, and Engineering on long-term workforce strategies and hiring plans
- Lead strategic projects on automation, AI adoption, and digital transformation of workforce planning
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership through data analysis, scenario modelling, and business cases
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Research, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related field
- Master’s degree is a plus
Experience Requirements
- 5–8+ years in workforce planning, warehouse operations, industrial engineering, or supply chain strategy
- Proven experience developing labour planning strategies for complex multi-site warehouse operations
- Experience leveraging AI, advanced analytics, or machine learning for workforce planning or scheduling
Essential Skills
- Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, Power BI, advanced Excel (including VBA), or similar tools
- Strong knowledge of Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies (Green Belt or above preferred)
- Fluent in English (required); Chinese proficiency is a strong advantage
- Experience with operational KPIs: UPPH, labour utilisation, throughput, cost per unit, SLA adherence
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience with AI-powered workforce planning or scheduling solutions
- Operations Research experience: linear programming, optimization algorithms, or simulation modelling
- Experience with WMS, LMS, warehouse automation, or robotics
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification
- Familiarity with Generative AI applications in warehouse or process automation
