Perception Engineer Jobs Dubai UAE 2026

A cutting-edge robotics and automation company in Dubai is hiring a Perception Engineer (Vision & Sensor) to lead end-to-end perception systems covering 2D/3D cameras and industrial sensors. This role focuses on building reliable, production-grade vision pipelines with strong ownership of calibration, validation, and real-world deployment. You will ensure perception outputs — measurements, poses, and confidence metrics — are accurate, robust, and fully usable for downstream robotic execution systems using C++, Python, OpenCV, and 3D point cloud technologies.

About the Opportunity — Perception Engineer Dubai

Core Systems: 2D/3D industrial cameras, depth sensors, ToF (Time-of-Flight), and point cloud perception pipelines

Technical Stack: C++/Python with OpenCV; point cloud libraries (PCL or equivalent); GPU acceleration a plus

Calibration Scope: Camera calibration, camera-to-world alignment, and hand-eye calibration for robotic systems

Real-World Deployment: Validate and troubleshoot systems against lighting variations, vibration, drift, dropped frames, and environmental constraints

Quality Gating: Implement data reliability checks ensuring only validated perception data reaches downstream execution systems

Dubai Robotics & Vision Engineering Market

Strategic Location: Dubai — one of the GCC’s most active and fast-growing markets for robotics, automation, and AI-driven industrial engineering

Market Demand: Perception engineers with production-grade 3D vision pipeline experience are among the most sought-after and best-compensated technical professionals in Dubai’s automation sector

Innovation Focus: Work on real robotic systems with genuine production deployment — not just research or simulation, but vision systems operating under real-world constraints

Career Growth: Build rare, internationally transferable perception engineering credentials covering depth sensing, calibration, sensor fusion, and robotic vision deployment

Position Overview

This Perception Engineer (Vision & Sensor) role in Dubai is a senior, hands-on technical position leading the full perception stack for an industrial robotics system. You will integrate and maintain camera and sensor systems, develop production-grade perception pipelines delivering measurements and poses with confidence metrics, own camera calibration and coordinate transformation workflows, build and optimize image processing and detection algorithms, work on 3D perception using depth, ToF, and point cloud data, validate systems in real-world conditions, implement quality gating logic, and document system behavior and validation results — all within a fast-moving robotics engineering environment where your work directly enables downstream robotic execution.

Why This Role Matters: As Perception Engineer in Dubai, you own the most fundamental layer of the robotic system — the perception stack that tells the robot what the world looks like, where objects are, and whether that information is reliable enough to act on, apply deep 3D vision expertise across depth cameras, ToF sensors, and point cloud processing in a production environment where your calibration accuracy and pipeline robustness have direct consequences for system reliability and customer-facing performance, build production-grade, not prototype-grade, perception systems — working through the genuinely hard problems of environmental variation, lighting changes, vibration, drift, and dropped frames that separate research demos from real deployments, work at the interface of computer vision, robotics, and quality engineering — a rare technical combination that makes experienced perception engineers one of the most valuable and scarce profiles in Dubai’s growing automation and AI sector, and contribute to a robotics product that relies on your perception work to function — where your engineering decisions about quality gating and data reliability checks directly protect downstream robotic execution from acting on bad data.

Key Responsibilities

Camera & Sensor System Integration

  • Integrate and maintain 2D/3D industrial camera and sensor systems with stable acquisition and repeatable configurations
  • Develop perception pipelines delivering accurate measurements, object poses, and confidence/quality metrics for robotic systems
  • Ensure sensor systems operate reliably under production conditions including lighting variation, vibration, and environmental constraints
  • Manage stable hardware-software integration between industrial cameras, depth sensors, and the robotic execution system

Calibration & Coordinate Transformations

  • Own all calibration processes including intrinsic camera calibration, extrinsic calibration, and camera-to-world/robot alignment
  • Implement and validate hand-eye calibration for accurate robot-to-camera coordinate transformations
  • Maintain calibration workflows that are repeatable, documentable, and verifiable under production conditions
  • Detect and correct calibration drift and coordinate transformation errors that affect perception reliability

3D Perception — Depth, ToF & Point Clouds

  • Work on 3D perception systems using depth cameras, Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensors, and point cloud processing for accurate geometry and measurements
  • Build and optimize algorithms for image processing, object detection, pose estimation, and surface inspection
  • Apply point cloud library (PCL or equivalent) skills to 3D data filtering, registration, and feature extraction
  • Deliver 3D perception outputs that meet accuracy and reliability requirements for downstream robotic manipulation tasks

Quality Gating, Validation & Real-World Debugging

  • Implement quality gating logic to ensure only reliable, validated perception data reaches downstream robotic execution systems
  • Validate systems in real-world conditions — troubleshooting issues including lighting variation, vibration, dropped frames, and performance constraints
  • Apply strong real-world debugging skills to resolve drift, environmental variation, and sensor performance issues
  • Document system behavior, validation results, calibration records, and debugging insights to production-grade standards

Qualifications & Requirements

Core Technical Skills

  • Strong experience in industrial camera/vision system integration — 2D and 3D (REQUIRED)
  • Hands-on expertise in 3D perception including depth sensing, ToF sensors, and point cloud processing
  • Experience with camera calibration and coordinate transformations — hand-eye calibration strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in C++ and Python with OpenCV for perception pipeline development; point cloud library experience is a plus
  • Strong real-world debugging skills — handling drift, dropped frames, and environmental performance variations
  • Quality validation mindset with experience implementing data reliability checks for production systems

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience in sensor fusion and time synchronization across multiple camera/sensor modalities
  • Familiarity with GPU acceleration for perception pipeline and inference optimization
  • Experience working in a production robotics environment where perception system reliability has direct operational consequences

About This Perception Engineering Opportunity in Dubai
