Position Overview
The Quality Assurance Officer / Quality Controller in this UAE manufacturing company supports the quality team in ensuring that all production processes, raw materials, and finished products consistently meet defined quality standards and regulatory requirements. You will perform quality inspections and checks on the production floor, conduct or support basic laboratory testing, document quality findings accurately, identify and report non-conformances, support corrective action implementation, and work closely with production teams to maintain a consistent, high-quality manufacturing output — all in a fast-paced industrial environment that demands precision, reliability, and a proactive approach to quality assurance.
Why This Role Matters: As Quality Assurance Officer in this UAE manufacturing facility, your inspections and quality checks are the critical control layer between production and the consumer — ensuring that every product that leaves the facility meets the safety, quality, and regulatory standards that customers, retailers, and regulatory authorities demand. Your attention to detail, your documentation discipline, and your understanding of production processes directly determine the consistency and reliability of the products this company manufactures and sells across the UAE and regional markets.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Inspections & Production Floor QC
- Conduct routine quality inspections and checks on raw materials, in-process production batches, and finished products — verifying compliance with product specifications, quality standards, and applicable UAE and international regulatory requirements
- Monitor production processes actively — identifying quality deviations, process inconsistencies, or product non-conformances as early as possible to minimize waste, rework, and customer quality failures
- Perform in-process quality checks at defined production control points — recording results accurately and escalating any out-of-specification findings to the QA Supervisor or Production Manager for immediate action
- Inspect packaging, labeling, weights, and product presentation against approved standards — ensuring all finished products meet customer and regulatory labeling and packaging requirements before dispatch
Laboratory Testing & Analysis Support
- Support or conduct basic laboratory testing of raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods — applying chemistry, food technology, pharmaceutical, or chemical engineering knowledge to interpret test results accurately against specifications
- Prepare and handle samples for laboratory analysis in accordance with established sampling procedures — maintaining sample chain-of-custody, accurate labeling, and proper storage conditions throughout the testing process
- Operate and maintain basic laboratory instruments and equipment — following calibration schedules, performing routine equipment checks, and ensuring all instruments are in good working condition for reliable test results
Quality Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate, organized, and complete quality records, inspection logs, and test reports — ensuring all documentation meets company quality management system requirements and is readily available for internal reviews and audits
- Prepare daily and periodic quality reports summarizing inspection findings, non-conformances identified, corrective actions initiated, and quality performance trends — providing management with timely and accurate quality data
- Ensure all QA documentation is properly completed, filed, and version-controlled in accordance with company QMS procedures — contributing to audit readiness and continuous quality improvement at the facility
Non-Conformance Management & CAPA Support
- Identify, document, and report quality non-conformances clearly and promptly — ensuring production, warehouse, and management teams are informed of quality issues in a timely manner to prevent non-conforming product from reaching customers
- Support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) investigations — contributing practical observations from quality inspections and production floor monitoring to help identify root causes and prevent recurrence of quality failures
- Follow up on open corrective actions to verify implementation and effectiveness — maintaining CAPA records and escalating overdue or ineffective actions to the QA Supervisor for resolution
Quality Standards Compliance & HSE
- Apply a basic to working understanding of production processes and quality standards — bringing relevant academic knowledge from Chemistry, Food Technology, Pharmaceutical Science, or Chemical Engineering to support practical quality management in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Follow all HSE policies and safety procedures in the laboratory and on the production floor — ensuring safe handling of chemicals, materials, and equipment at all times and maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free working environment
- Support internal quality audits, external regulatory inspections, and customer quality visits — preparing documentation, demonstrating quality procedures, and representing the QA team professionally during audit activities
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Food Technology, Pharmaceutical Science, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related scientific discipline — academic knowledge applied to manufacturing quality is the primary qualification for this role
Experience Requirements
- Experience in a laboratory or FMCG manufacturing environment is a strong advantage — but motivated fresh science graduates currently based in the UAE who demonstrate strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and a genuine interest in manufacturing quality are also encouraged to apply
- Basic understanding of production processes and quality standards — whether gained through academic study, internship, industrial placement, or prior work experience in a manufacturing or laboratory context
Key Personal Attributes
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment — staying organized, accurate, and focused under production pressure without compromising quality standards or documentation discipline
- Strong attention to detail — essential for reliable quality inspection, accurate test result recording, and meaningful non-conformance identification in a busy production facility
- Currently based in the UAE — this is a mandatory requirement; only UAE-resident candidates will be considered for this position
- Good communication and teamwork skills — able to collaborate effectively with production, warehouse, laboratory, and management teams to support quality goals across the facility
