Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
Supplier Quality Management in Development & Series Production
- Manage and support existing suppliers across all quality topics within development projects and series production — acting as the primary quality interface between the company and its supplier base throughout the product lifecycle.
- Participate in the selection of new suppliers — conducting initial quality assessments, evaluating supplier capabilities and contributing quality-relevant input to the supplier selection and approval process.
- Act as the internal contact for all supplier-related quality questions relating to product quality and process quality — providing clear, technically authoritative guidance to internal development, production and purchasing teams.
- Accompany supplier project management from the early development phases through to end acceptance and series production release — ensuring all quality milestones are met at each APQP phase gate.
Claims Management, Optimization & Audit
- Implement supplier claims management activities — coordinating 8D reports, root cause analyses (Ishikawa, 5-Why) and corrective action tracking to ensure effective, permanent resolution of supplier quality failures.
- Develop and implement supplier optimization programs — working collaboratively with suppliers to address systemic quality gaps, process capability weaknesses and recurring non-conformance patterns.
- Conduct process audits, R&R (Repeatability & Reproducibility) measurements and initial quality assessments at supplier facilities — providing structured, documented audit findings and supporting corrective action planning.
- Participate in technical supplier discussions alongside the development team — contributing manufacturing process expertise and quality engineering knowledge to inform product design and process definition decisions.
Technical Expertise & PPAP / EMPB Management
- Support and lead the preparation, review and approval of PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and EMPB submissions for new parts and supplier changes — ensuring full compliance with customer-specific requirements and IATF/ISO/TS 16949 standards.
- Provide manufacturing process expertise for the specific parts spectrum assigned — advising on process capability requirements, control plan content, measurement system adequacy and inspection criteria.
- Apply SPC (Statistical Process Control) concepts and tools to evaluate supplier process capability data — identifying trends, capability gaps and process stability issues that require supplier corrective action.
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational & Professional Background
- Engineering qualification (Ingenieur), Techniker or Meisterausbildung in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automotive Engineering or a closely related technical discipline — mandatory educational foundation.
