Position Overview
This Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role involves producing detailed mechanical design drawings, technical specifications, schedules, and design development reports for high-rise and hospitality projects in Dubai. You will coordinate closely with the wider project team, monitor the performance of junior engineers, ensure statutory and regulatory compliance, and support NOC submittals to relevant UAE authorities — all while keeping projects on schedule and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Design & Documentation
- Produce detailed design drawings specializing in HVAC, public health, and fire protection systems
- Design BMS, irrigation, swimming pool, and gas systems for high-rise and hospitality projects
- Prepare technical specifications, schedules, and design development reports
- Understand contract requirements and scope of project deliverables
Team Coordination & Leadership
- Coordinate design work with other members of the project team
- Work closely with and monitor the performance of junior engineers
- Keep senior design team members informed of key service and design decisions
- Ensure project objectives for both the consultancy and the client are achieved
Regulatory Compliance & Authority Approvals
- Ensure statutory and regulatory requirements are met across all designs
- Support project submittals and No Objection Certificate (NOC) processes
- Liaise with Dubai Municipality, DEWA, Civil Defence, Trakhees, EHS, and DDA
- Maintain compliance with UAE building codes and sustainability standards
Project & Deadline Management
- Ensure service and project work are delivered within agreed deadlines and budget
- Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously across the design division
- Track project design progress from concept through to detailed design
- Attend and contribute to team and project meetings as required
Sustainable & Technical Design Excellence
- Provide sustainable, energy-efficient mechanical design solutions
- Apply industry-standard MEP software including HAP, Revit, and AutoCAD
- Deliver technical expertise across complex, multi-disciplinary design tasks
- Communicate designs clearly in both Arabic and English where required
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (BEng) or Master’s Degree in Engineering (MEng)
- Membership of a recognized professional body — CIBSE, IMechE, or ASHRAE (desirable)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 15 years of experience within an engineering consultancy (UAE experience preferred)
- Proven track record of project design from concept through to detailed design
- Experience dealing with Dubai authorities: DM, DEWA, Civil Defence, Trakhees, EHS, DDA
- Background in high-rise buildings and hospitality sector projects
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in MEP design software including HAP, Revit, and AutoCAD
